Last Saturday, June 20th, marked the end of an incredible journey — the final Dave Day ride. Known as "The Last Ride Home," Dave Day 2026 was the third and heartfelt memorial motorcycle tribute to the beloved Hairy Biker, Dave Myers.
The idea behind Dave Day was simple but powerful: hop on your bike, head to Barrow, and remind everyone of the special place Dave Myers holds in our hearts.
This year, for the final chapter, tens of thousands of bikers travelled from the iconic Ace Café London all the way to Barrow-in-Furness. They raised funds for NSPCC Childline and other causes close to Dave’s hometown — a truly meaningful event.
Among the participants were friends/customers from Sycamore Motorrad, including Mark & Caroline Johnson, along with Caroline’s brother Andrew and friends Gerry, Rob, and Den — all passionate BMW owners.
They enjoyed the scenic ride, stopping at various points along the way, with Caroline describing it as "absolutely fantastic — beyond words, more than I could have ever imagined. Seeing 45,000 to 50,000 bikers together was crazy — such an unforgettable experience!"
It’s truly special to be part of something so remarkable.
Congratulations to everyone involved!
The breakdown of rider numbers across the event's history highlights its incredible scale:
* 2024 (Inaugural Year): Officially recorded at 46,136 motorbikes, with an estimated 200,000 spectators lining the route and filling Dave Myers' hometown of Barrow.
* 2025: Saw continued massive turnout, with officials estimating between 20,000 and 36,000 riders making the 300-mile journey.
* 2026 (The Final Ride): Once again attracted upwards of 40,000 bikers along the M40 and M6 routes heading into Cumbria
