Please remember to check you oil level and top up, if needed, by the correct amount.
If you don't, you may end up in a similar situation as this customer.

He didn't check his oil level until the red "low oil pressure" light came on. He then over filled the engine with too much oil.
By running it short of oil, he caused excess wear to the engine, and then by over filling it, he caused excess internal pressure which caused the engine to fail totally.

We are now in the process of dismantling the old engine ready for the replacement to arrive...

A relatively straightforward job on a VW Transporter (2005 model) 2.5 TDI has just become a major repair.

Originally came in to replace the seal kits on the diesel injectors, so stripped it down ready for the new seal kits in the morning.

The camshaft was showing signs of excessive wear, so a little further checking shows that it would be beneficial to replace the camshaft and hydraulic valve lifters now before something fails and causes even more damage to the engine...
