Hello again everyone,

A significant milestone for Arabella Rose: Masts Stepped
With the assistance of Yachting Sports Ltd at Hamble Point. The grand lady now has her masts and most of her rigging setup!! I hope you all agree she’s looking rather good.

I appreciate that it has been some time since my last update. Unfortunately, various domestic matters have demanded my attention and taken priority over the project in recent months. I wanted to assure everyone that, despite the silence, work on Arabella Rose has continued, and the project is very much alive. To demonstrate this, I am pleased to share some photographs that show her current status and the progress.

Earlier in the year I had the other spars painted to match the brilliant white of the masts. Also, when I got a close inspection there were quite a number of rigging items that needed servicing or replacing. All this seemed to take for ever….

The next tasks are to finish the rigging (positioning of lines and cleats etc) and final commissioning of the electrics. Then splash! When will this happen? Well, the season is getting a bit late. Will she get wet this year? Watch this space.

Hello followers, it has been a while since I've updated here. Last Autumn there were delays getting hold of the recommended electrician. I think it was November when we finally got started on Arabella's electrics/electronics. Most of the cable runs needed checking, some replacing, and the control panel tested and updating. To shorten the story her electrics (as of a week ago) are now all fully functioning and her new B&G electronic systems are installed and working. I’m uploading a few images for you to see her progress. Sorting out the electrics was the last major task to getting her ready to launch. You’ll also notice she has now exited the workshop and is now back outside in the open air!
I hope in the next few weeks to get her masts stepped and begin to get her rigging back in place. Very much looking forward to learning her lines and planning her launch.
The final picture will be a relief to John and Steve. When we were packing her up for the move out of the workshop, someone stumbled on her original brass nameplate. I’ve been looking this for some weeks. Apparently, it had been placed on a shelf in her workspace for safe keeping! They just didn’t tell anyone else. That's all for now, more to come on her adventures outside.

Also, while I'm posting pictures. Here's a couple of her after the remaining deck fittings were replaced.
She's looking nearly finished! Only below deck services and electricals to get done. Oh! and paint her bottom. I've included a couple of her with bottom rubbed. There are traces of her having been coppered in the past.

Time for an update. A couple of weeks ago we reviewed Arabella’s Kemp masts and spars.
After 25 years they were looking a bit shabby. Cracked and peeling paint in real need of attention.
The guys had an empty slot in the workshop, so I decided to go for it, and repaint the two masts.
The booms will have to wait for another year. Being somewhat smaller I could tackle them myself.
To speed up the process (we only had a week) I had them shot blasted and then primed and painted the same white as the topsides (Awlgrip). The photos are the results.
I think you'll agree they've turned out rather nice and shiny.

Shortly after the deck was painted. It was time for the engine to go back in (Yanmar 2GM20).
I thought I'd share a view of what the compartment looked like when John and Greg picked her up. A before and after view!
Greg did a super job of getting the engine running again and tidied up. My engineer checked things over but said it's ready to go in!
It's now fully connected and all that remains is the electrical bits.

Hello all, please let me introduce myself, my name is Andy the owner of Arabella Rose. I’m not a Facebook expert so this will be a learning experience. I’d like to thank John, the previous owner for building this FB page and allowing me to take on and update story.
The restoration is progressing well and lots of painting going on the guys are currently prepping her bottom for antifouling. For all those interested, I will be posting more pictures of her reassembly over the coming days.
We haven’t set a launch date yet. As there are still many tasks outstanding. But as you’ll see, significant progress has been made and hope you’ll agree she’s beginning to look quite stunning.
I hope to get her back on the water later this year, time and finances allowing.

Recently visited Casse-Tête with my sailing chum Greg, to see both the progress of Arabella Rose's restoration and to meet, at long last, the new owner Andy Biggs.
Attached are a few photos taken since my last update, back in May.
I have agreed with Andy to handover to him the administration of this page.
AR is looking great. What talent these restorers have. Amazing !
Current plan is to have Arabella Rose back in the water in early 2023. Fingers crossed.

After receiving several enquiries from followers and friends the new owner, Andy Biggs, has kindly allowed me to post a few images showing the progress of the restoration, so far, of this beautiful boat.

Delighted to announce a new chapter in the story of this beautiful boat.
Arabella Rose has recently been bought by Andy Biggs. She has already been moved to Casse-Tête Marine Ltd, a professional yard, owned by Jim & George Webb, based at Hamble Marina. www.casse-tete.co.uk. Here she will undergo a full restoration over the coming months.
A few images of her arriving and inside her new home at Casse-Tête, with restoration already underway and of her leaving Engine Farm.
The intention is to continue to photograph and record the restoration process. Please continue to follow for the next update.

Wow what a roller coaster ! After a lot of heartache, we sold this beautiful boat, earlier in August, to a boat builder in Hants. Deposit paid, cranes and boat transport booked for last week, staging around the boat removed ! However, ........... don't hold your breath,....... now back on the market again ...... logistics put on hold !
Sadly the purchaser can no longer take on the project for a very genuine reason and has requested we re-market her, which we have reluctantly agreed to do.
There was a lot of interest from our original e-bay ad. +7000 views and over 100 watchers. The ad closed early due to the purchase. We received a few other offers from genuinely interested parties, who we have now gone back to, to explain the unusual circumstances we now find ourselves in. If we cannot find her a new home via this route, which we hope to do, she will sadly be back on e-bay in September. Spread the word please for this fabulous lady.
