Strangely, far fewer people get excited about stopping.

So anyone who wanted us to tune there cars but we could not offer dyno tuning due to only having a 2 wheel dyno - we can now get you in!!!

We will be without a dyno from November 1st until November 9th. But after that.. there won’t be anything we can’t run!

Contrary to popular belief, remapping doesn't involve plugging in a laptop and pressing a big red button marked MORE POWER.

Although that would make life considerably easier.

Your car's ECU controls everything from fuelling and ignition timing to turbo boost on applicable engines.

Remapping involves carefully adjusting the engine's software calibration to optimise performance.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗶𝘁...

Not every engine has the same tuning potential.

Engine condition, fuel quality, hardware and the manufacturer's original calibration all play a part.

A good remap isn't simply about extracting the biggest possible horsepower figure.

It's about delivering usable performance while respecting the engine's operating limits.

Because 400bhp looks fantastic on paper.

Slightly less impressive when it's scattered across the A9.

But what about torque?

🏎️ 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 measures how quickly that engine can do work.

Think of torque as the muscle and horsepower as how quickly that muscle can work.

It's why two cars with identical horsepower figures can feel completely different on the road.

One delivers a big shove at low revs. The other needs to be revved hard before it really comes alive.

The Audi TT is a rather good-looking car straight from the factory.

But like a man wearing a perfectly tailored suit with slightly oversized trousers, there's sometimes room for improvement.

𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗞𝗪 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. 🔧

By reducing the ride height, a properly matched set of lowering springs can give the TT a more purposeful stance while also influencing how it handles.

But it's not simply a case of getting the car as close to the tarmac as possible.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀?

✅ A lower, sportier appearance.
✅ Reduced centre of gravity.
✅ Potentially less body roll and sharper handling.
✅ A suspension setup designed for the vehicle.

Of course, lower doesn't automatically mean better. Spring rates, damper compatibility and suspension geometry all matter.

Get the setup wrong and every pothole becomes a personal attack.

Here's a question.

What's the point of upgrading a part of your engine that nobody will ever see?

Take the turbo inlet on a Mk7 Golf GTI.

It's not particularly glamorous. It doesn't make the car look faster, and nobody at a car show is going to gather around admiring it.

But it has an important job.

𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗼.

And when you're trying to produce more power, unnecessary restrictions aren't especially welcome.

Forge Motorsport's alloy turbo inlet adaptor is designed to replace the factory component with a smoother, higher-flowing alternative.

Forge reports gains of up to 8bhp in its testing, although results will depend on the vehicle and setup.

Will fitting one suddenly transform your GTI into a Lamborghini?

No.

But on the right setup, improving airflow can help support other performance upgrades.

Because sometimes the cleverest modifications are the ones nobody notices.

We've all made questionable decisions when it comes to cars.

The Mk2 Golf GTI. The sensible choice, assuming your definition of sensible involves driving everywhere with a grin.

The Renault Clio 182. Proof that you don't need 400bhp and seventeen driving modes to have fun.

Or perhaps the Ford Focus RS. Because sometimes subtlety is massively overrated.

Modern hot hatches are faster, safer and packed with technology.

But are they actually more fun?
