New rules coming into place soon

📢 The rules for booking a practical car driving test are changing.

From 31 March 2026, learner drivers and approved driving instructors (ADIs) will only be able to change a driving test booking up to 2 times.

A change includes:
- changing the date or time
- changing the test centre
- swapping an appointment with another learner

If you’re an ADI, please make sure your pupils only book their test when they’re ready as swapping between pupils will count towards this limit. You can set times when you're available to take your pupils to their driving tests. This stops your pupils from booking tests at times that do not work for you.

👉 When this comes into force, everyone with a driving test booked will have 2 changes available, regardless of how many changes they may have already made.

This change is part of the outcome of our consultation to improve the way driving tests are booked.

Winter is back and so are the challenges on the road! 🌨️

Remember, safe winter driving is all about preparation, patience, and awareness.

🚙 Top Winter Driving Tips:

• Slow down. Snow and ice mean longer stopping distances.

• Keep extra space. Give yourself plenty of room to react.

• Gentle movements. Smooth steering, braking, and accelerating help prevent skids.

• Clear ALL windows. Good visibility = good decisions.

• Be winter-ready. Check tyres, lights, wipers, and keep your fuel at least half full.

• Stay calm. If you slide, ease off the accelerator and steer gently — no sudden braking.

Learning to drive in winter can feel intimidating but with the right habits, you’ll build confidence and stay safe.

It’s a fantastic achievement for every client that passes their practical driving test but today was extra special and provided me with one of my proudest moments so far …. A proud parent moment to be exact. This time I felt what it was like as a parent waiting on their child, the nerves, the anxiety. It’s so surreal. The credit however, must go to Lewis for the effort and commitment he’s demonstrated throughout.
