At Helix Performance Solutions, we’re pleased to announce support for the latest generation Porsche Bosch ECUs, opening calibration possibilities for some of Stuttgart’s most sought-after performance platforms.

How It Works

These ECUs require a secure mail-in unlock process before calibration access can be achieved.

Once unlocked, future reading and writing can be carried out via Bench, allowing safe and reliable access to these highly protected control units.

Modern Porsche ECUs feature some of the most advanced security currently found in the automotive industry. Access to these systems allows professional calibration development while maintaining a diagnostics-led approach focused on reliability, drivability and vehicle health.

One of the biggest misconceptions about performance calibration is that it’s only about power.

This BMW X3 20d recently came to us for a Stage 1 calibration, increasing output from 184bhp to approximately 220bhp. While the additional power and torque are immediately noticeable, it’s often the improvements in drivability and efficiency that customers comment on most.

Today we received this message from the owner whilst towing a 2-tonne, 21-foot caravan to Aberystwyth:

🔧 Ford Transit ECU Replacement & Programming 🔧

This 2013 Ford Transit Minibus required a replacement SID209 ECU after a fault with the original unit.

Using Ford FDRS software, we programmed and configured the replacement ECU to the vehicle before carrying out injector coding with our diagnostic equipment to ensure correct operation and fuel delivery.

The latest VAG Bosch MG1CS164 ECU support has officially landed — covering the new generation 2.5 TFSI platforms including:

• Audi RS3 8Y Facelift (2025)
• Cupra Formentor VZ5 (2026)

At Helix Performance Solutions, we can now support these ECUs via Bench after secure mail-in unlock procedures.

This is a serious step forward for the VAG 5-cylinder platform and opens the door for safe, professional calibration development on the newest protected MG1 systems.

A big milestone for Helix Performance Solutions today.

Back in 2020, right in the middle of Covid, I started this business on my own with basic equipment, basic training, and a determination to build something properly.

At a time when businesses everywhere were struggling and shutting down, I decided to take the risk and really make a go of it.

Over the last six years we’ve continuously invested into better tooling, dealer-level diagnostics, ECU technology, training, software, and improving the overall standard of what we do. But more importantly than anything else, the company has grown because of customer service and after-sales support.

Being honest with customers, supporting them properly after the work is completed, and building long-term relationships is what got Helix to where it is today.

What started as a one-man mobile operation has now grown into a professional calibration and vehicle systems company operating across England and North Wales.

Because of that growth, today was a big milestone for the business as we officially onboarded and trained Mia as part of the Helix team.

Today we spent the day going through the software we use, our systems, tooling, customer handling, after-sales procedures, and the standards we expect across the company. One thing that’s extremely important to me is making sure every customer gets the same professional experience no matter who they speak to within Helix.

Mia has picked things up really quickly, she’s got a good head on her, she’s eager to learn, and it’s genuinely good to see the company continue to grow to this stage.

Mia will now be managing the North Wales division of Helix Performance Solutions, alongside helping with customer support, bookings, and social media moving forward.

You’ll be seeing a lot more content from us very soon, so make sure you follow the Helix North Wales pages and keep an eye on what’s coming next.

This EDC17CP14 ECU came to us for additional features…

✓ Hard cut limiter
✓ Smoke map adjustments
✓ Existing calibration reviewed & revised

The vehicle already had a Stage 1 file installed, however the software was of unknown origin, so before carrying out any work we reviewed the existing calibration and made our revisions accordingly.

With the ECU already removed from the vehicle, we were able to complete the work at a reduced cost and return it to the customer ready to go.

A proper old-school one in today 👌

This 2001 Land Rover Discovery came in for a power upgrade. Unlike a lot of modern vehicles, boost control on these is manually adjusted, so once the ECU calibration is completed we fine-tune the actuator mechanically to get everything running exactly as it should.

Different generation of tuning, but still all about doing the job properly.

And that sound… 😮‍💨🔥
