TEMPORARY CLOSURE | MARCH 2020

As a consequence of the recent coronavirus outbreak, we have had to comply with the Government’s directive and temporarily suspend operations here at Hillier Hill as of Wednesday 24th March.

Despite this temporary workshop closure, the team will still be on hand to respond to your queries. For general enquiries, please call 01234 713871 and leave a message on our office answerphone, which will be monitored regularly.

Christmas and New Year 2017

We will be closing for business at 1pm on Friday 22nd December 2017 and will be reopening for business at 8am on Tuesday 2nd January 2018.

Bentley Drivers Club Silverstone 5th August 2017

Hillier Hill attended the annual BDC Silverstone race meeting in conjunction with Barry Hopkinson Ltd. This year we were delighted to be joined by Easirider Rugs as well. An absolutely brilliant day out.

Thanks to all the team for their hard work. Look forward to seeing you all again next year!

And finally....

The car prior to departure in Summer of 2016.

Thank you to all of you who have taken the trouble to look at our little project and for all of your comments. We really appreciate your interest and feedback.

It's been a bit more time consuming than I'd expected putting this together, so this will be my last posting for a while. Rest assured we'll continue to put anything of interest on Facebook but it will probably not be quite as detailed as this.

It's quite interesting looking at the comparison between where we started and where we finished. Nowhere is this more evident than in the engine compartment.

The Bentley went through a rigorous series of mechanical and electrical road tests before we were satisfied that the car was ready for final trimming and refitting.
We were lucky enough to obtain a refurbished Bentley radiator shell and the last set of brand new radiator shutters. Absolutely amazing.

We have alluded to the previous repairs carried out on this car. One of the most difficult aspects was with the leather trim. Under normal circumstances the original leather can be used to provide templates to work with. In this instance the quality of the previous trim was so parlous as to only provide a scant outline as to what the correct shape and profile should be. The trimmer provided absolute heroics with this car insofar as he was able to reinstate the trim to a very high standard and all credit goes to him in this regard.

The final photos in this posting show the car on final shakedown and body road test.

The next series of postings will provide a comparison and a reminder of how far we have come in getting the car to this stage.
