I think it’s time to admit I may have a Ford addiction… 😅

What started as “I’ll just save this one” has somehow turned into a yard full of old Fords waiting for their turn.

Looking across the workshop today, I’m wondering…

Which one should be the next project?

🚗 Restore one?
🏁 Build one?
🔧 Get one back on the road?
💸 Or sell them all and finally seek professional help?

1966 Jaguar 420 revival update🚗🔧

When a car has been stood for years, I think that there are two approaches…

1. Turn the key and hope ✨
2. Replace half the ignition system, 90% of the fuelling system and negotiate with the automotive gods for a successful outcome 😅.

Today’s sacrifice:
✅ Cap
✅ Rotor arm
✅ Points
✅ Condenser
✅ Leads
✅ Fluids
✅ Various bits Jaguar hid in impossible places

Current status:
Engine has had more new parts today than some modern cars get in a lifetime.

Will it start?
Will it idle?
Will it immediately remind us why 1960s luxury cars have so much ‘character’ ?

We have a welding job in at the moment.
A MK2 Es**rt having an RS strengthening kit fitted.
I want to get on with it this weekend …. HOWEVER, you saw that I suffered a huge red hot cherry make it into my top & roll down into my pants on Saturday …. Causing Andy to split his sides laughing, watching me do a Michael Flatley in a burning panic.
Needless to say I have a few burns & don’t particularly want any more …… BUT

When you need some protective gear for welding but all the PPE suppliers think that every fabricator is built like a 6ft scaffolder 😂

Still searching for:
• Small - Medium welding jacket, with room for funbags.
• Gloves that don’t look like oven mitts or that I can actively use my trigger finger whilst wearing.
• Protective gear that fits without rolling the sleeves up 14 times

At this point I’m one rouge spark away from an actual melt down 😭⚡

Tiny welder. Serious issues. 🔥👩‍🏭
