Bramble had to have her gearbox replaced after drive to the propeller was intermittent and there was a fluid leak. I had a new mechanical gearbox on the shelf but the one fitted was hydraulic. The experts out there gave lots of information on their websites informing me that the two were not compatible and that a pile of expensive drive plates and adapters would be needed to swap between the them. Once I removed the hydraulic gearbox I found they were almost identical except for the way they worked and the gear selector was on the other side. A bit of welding bars together to make a new mounting bracket and that was overcome. So the good news is that 5 hours later Bramble is ready to go out on her hire on Monday.
