The boy did good!!! Well done to Jack Munton who produced a great drive this afternoon that earned him a pass with just three faults. This hasn't always been the easiest journey for Jack, but he's really persevered and committed himself, and hence really deserves this result. Happy car shopping!! 🚗🚗

It may be a bit dull and miserable outside today, but it's pure sunshine for Elodie who just passed first time and with ZERO FAULTS!! She couldn't quite believe it, but she absolutely deserved it. She's been such a committed pupil, always determined to fix faults and improve and today was her reward. I'm very proud of her. Congratulations!! 🥳🥳

Today's the day then.

To give some clarity, what this really means is:

* Instructors can no longer book tests. Only the pupil can now do this. However, they must agree with their instructor that they are ready before doing so. A date range and a destination should be agreed.

* Cancellation apps are no more. This means that pupils will only be able to find cancellations by regularly logging on to the main government site.

* Only pupils can manage their tests. Instructors can no longer change or swap tests for pupils.

In conclusion, pupils should only book test dates (with the agreement of their instructor) that they feel they will be ready for as the ability to swap and find cancellations will still be there, but may be harder to access.

Well, what can I say about this little superstar...Jamie won't mind me telling you that he had put off learning to drive for quite a few years for various reasons, but with some gentle persuasion from his friends, he started lessons. And then there was no stopping him. He passed his theory test first time, and today he passed his driving test first time with ZERO FAULTS!! Jamie has worked his socks off for this and it means the absolute world to him. I'm so proud of him. Congratulations!! 🥂🥂

It's so lovely when you see someone's face light up when they hear they have been successful on their driving test, and especially when it's first time and especially with just one fault!! Lucy Brittain was an absolute star today and delivered an amazing drive. 🌟🌟 Lucy has been consistently strong throughout her lessons though and has practised so much in her own time - thank you mum. Congratulations!!

You wouldn't believe how cool, calm and smiley Grace Tyler was today when she arrived for her driving test. She even made the examiner smile when he asked her to turn into a car park and she told him she couldn't because it said 'no entry '. Turns out she was reading it upside down!! 😣
Congratulations to Grace on a fantastic first time pass with just three faults and some nice compliments from the examiner. And thanks to her parents for so much extra practice - it really does make such a difference.

A fantastic first time pass this morning for Jesse. Jesse has worked so hard not only today, but in the lead up to this test. I think he would admit that he found it challenging at times, but he persevered and this is the result and I'm very proud of him. Also a big thanks to his mum for the extra practice, which has helped hugely. Enjoy the freedom! 😀

So for the hour before her test Kirstie went through every emotion possible, convinced herself it was going to be the most terrifying event possible, and it took a lot of coaxing to even get her in there. 😣😣 But then, she suddenly shook it off, went back to her normal brilliant self and passed first time with just one fault and lots of compliments from the examiner!! I always knew she could ace it and I'm so pleased that she did herself proud. Huge congratulations!! 👏👏👏👏
