Spain has been incredible.

Ferry from Portsmouth into Santander. 2 hrs along the coast to Zarautz where we settled in for 7 days. Campsite is in a brilliant location overlooking the beach with walking access via the 439 steps.

Ideal location for exploring San Sebastián and more of the beautiful Basque region. It’s not often we say we don’t want to leave or that we would definitely come back. This is one that changes all that.

Next stop Bordeaux region in France. Who knew that 24 bottles of w**e is the personal limit to bring back home?

The journey continues.

RETROSTRIPE. Back where it began.

One of the very first stripe designs I produced for Dubsta, and one that still looks the part today.

Ash’s T4, wearing a proper old-school colour combination of cream, burnt orange and brown. A design that looks like it could have rolled straight out of a Volkswagen brochure from the late seventies.

This van was also part of a pretty significant moment in Dubsta’s history.

Our first ever Campermart.

We entered four vehicles into the show and had all four accepted. Not a bad start for a brand finding its feet.

Looking back, it’s easy to forget those early milestones as everything moves forward. But this was one of the vehicles, and one of the designs, that helped establish what Dubsta was going to be about.

Good people. Proper builds. Original ideas.

And a healthy obsession with Volkswagens.

A week to go before we point the Transporter south and set off on our longest road trip yet.

The pups are vaccinated, passports sorted and due a trim. The van and Eriba are getting cleaned, checked and packed this week. Then it’s Portsmouth, onto the ferry and overnight to Spain.

No show field. No rush to get anywhere. Just the van, the Eriba, two dogs and a couple of weeks on the road.

We’ve done plenty of miles in this thing, but this one feels different. Towing the Eriba through Spain and France, finding places as we go and seeing how far we can stretch the whole RoadHaus idea in the real world.

A week of prep left.

Then we’re off.

Spain via Portsmouth. The longest one yet.
