Despite all our experience working on Ford wet belts, this was actually the first Ford Ranger wet belt service we’ve carried out at ADR Motorworks.

We were pleasantly surprised to find (unlike an EcoBoost) that it’s actually a relatively straightforward engine to work on.

Once the radiator and fan were removed, there was a decent amount of room to get stuck into the job. 👌

🔧 Parts Replaced:

✅ Timing Belt
✅ Timing Cover
✅ Tensioner
✅ Oil Pump Belt
✅ Oil Strainer Pipe
✅ Auxiliary Belt
✅ Water Pump
✅ Water Pump Belt
✅ Sump Pan
✅ Coolant
✅ 10L 5W30 Oil
✅ Oil Filter

Once everything was checked over, we finished the job off with one of our signature ADR engine bay deep cleans. 🧼🧽

Another wet belt job ticked off the list! 💪

Ford Ranger Bi-Turbo - Wet Belt Inspection
🛻 ⚙️🔧

Customer had recently purchased a Ford Ranger and had been told horror stories about Ford wet belts so wanted it inspecting for peace of mind.

First we had to drain the oil before we could do an inspection of the belt and sump. 🛢️

🔎 Using a borescope we inspected the sump and strainer for debris, then the belt for evidence of cracking or fraying. 🔍

There was no debris in the sump, oil strainer or in the oil itself and the wet belt was in excellent condition with no visible deterioration. 👍

We don’t normally re-use old oil but the vehicle had recently been serviced so the customer asked if we could re-use it as replacing the 10 litres it takes would have been quite expensive. 🛢️

Customer was very happy to hear his recent purchase was a good one and not hiding any nasty or expensive surprises. 😁

Finished off with our signature ADR engine bay deep clean. 🧼 🧽
