What started as a standard timing chain, guide, and tensioner replacement quickly turned into a much bigger job on this Honda CRX.

​First up, a massive oil leak led us to a PCV block held on by just ONE bolt out of four. To fix that properly, the supercharger had to come off... which opened up a whole new can of worms.

​Once the charger was off, we spotted a crack in the manifold. We got that welded up and faced flat before any rebuild could begin.

​But after eating our vegetables, we got to move on to dessert: fabricating a full custom 3-inch exhaust, including modifying the manifold collector to a full 3-inch!

​Safe to say this supercharged setup is going to breathe a lot better now. We gained 22bhp from.all this work the car is leaving us with 283 bhp .

Fn2 superchangered in with us for a health check after his charger belt snapped and he felt the car had a few other issues . ( belt was replaced ) and then ran on the dyno the car made 370 bhp .
We found the coolent , clutch and brake fluid needed changing , rear axle bushes were split and whilst the underside was quiet clean for an fn2 it was time to clean it up and underseal it . (All this work was carried out ).
We looked into an oil leak and found the engine in the car was a k20a2 from the ep3 and had a k20z4 timing chain cover leaving one of the engine mount hole unable to be used coursing a leak . So we fitted a k20a2 timing cover .
We also swapped out the 25mm dv valve from the tts kit to a turbosmart race port 50mm valve , we also checked the fuel pump which had been uprated already from the one in the tts kit .
The custom was unhappy with how heavy and on and off the clutch was . It had a twin plate in so we swap the clutch to a normal single plate to give a more oem clutch feel .
We also removed the custom 3" exhaust with 2.5" back box's and the manifold with a 2.25" collector and swapped it for the piper true 3" full exhaust .
Finally we put the car back on the dyno and mapped it the car is now leaving us with 420 bhp .
