This hard-working rubber belt powers your alternator, your power steering, and—most importantly in July—your Air Conditioning compressor. ❄️

It starts as a tiny "click" on the motorway, but a Windscreen Chip can quickly turn into a major headache. This , we’re explaining why you should fix chips before they crack.

Your windscreen is part of your car’s structural integrity. A small chip is a weak point that can fail because of:

Temperature Changes: Using the heater in winter or the AC in summer can cause the glass to expand and contract, turning a chip into a full-length crack instantly.

Potholes & Bumps: A sharp jolt can be enough to make a chip "spider" across the glass.

MOT Failure: A chip larger than 10mm in the driver’s line of sight is an automatic MOT fail.

Top Tip: Repairing a chip is significantly cheaper and faster than replacing a whole windscreen. Most insurance policies even cover chip repairs for free!

📢 Tech Tip Tuesday! 🌡️💧

Your engine generates enough heat to melt itself—the only thing stopping that from happening is your Water Pump. This , we’re looking at the unsung hero of your cooling system!

The water pump constantly circulates coolant to keep the temperature steady. If it fails, your engine will overheat in minutes. Watch for these three signs of a failing pump:

1. The "Whining" Noise: A failing bearing inside the pump often makes a high-pitched "whining" or "buzzing" sound from the front of the engine.

2. Coolant Leaks: Look for puddles of pink or blue fluid near the front-middle of the engine.

3. Steam from the Bonnet: If the pump stops, the coolant will boil over. If you see steam, pull over safely immediately!

Top Tip: We always recommend replacing the water pump at the same time as your timing belt, as they usually live in the same part of the engine and wear out at the same rate!
