We are seeking an experienced engine fitter to join our professional workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, fitting and testing reconditioned engines and components ensuring that all work meets the company’s standards of accuracy and performance. This position requires excellent mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining our reputation for quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
The engine fitter will assemble and fit reconditioned engines, cylinder heads and associated components to specifications. Responsibilities include dismantling and inspecting engines to identify faults, wear or damage as well as performing mechanical repairs and rebuilds. The role also involves the safe and efficient operation of workshop tools and machinery, along with conducting detailed testing and quality checks to ensure all work meets company requirements. Maintaining a clean, organised, and safely compliant workspace is an essential aspect of the role.
Requirements
Applicants should have proven experience as an engine fitter, mechanic, or engine reconditioner, with a solid understanding of both petrol and diesel engine systems. Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills, combined with the ability to interpret technical information and follow precise assembly procedures are essential. Candidates must demonstrate excellent attention to detail, pride in their workmanship, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as a part of a team.
It is a requirement that applicants supply and maintain their own set of professional hand tools appropriate to the role.
