⛔️ SCAMMED and a warning to other businesses/trades/garages/van converters in the Reading area and further afield ⛔️
⛔️ This van is booked in somewhere next week for 2 roof fans to be installed BEWARE. Bloke called himself John ⛔️
Genuine post it's finally happened, today i was scammed on a van window fitting job. My own fault for being too trusting and lesson learnt.
Travelled to Reading to supply and install 4 windows to a blue Fiat Ducato reg EJ20HCD. Customer waited in a block of flats until i finished then appeared, took my payment details and sent them to his missus to make payment.
He then went round the front of the flats and never reappeared. Called him after 10 minutes but he said he is busy but payment should be with me now or anytime soon. Took his word for it but no payment in 2hrs.
Called him again and he starts shouting saying he gave me cash and put the phone down.
Scumbag never paid for 2 side opening windows and 2 opening barn door windows.
In hindsight the warning signs were there, a particular accent/haircut wasnt the generic slick combed back but did look like a broccoli, pink t-shirt 3 sizes too small for his belly and the fact he said he had a missus which if you'd of seen him there is no way he could of had one.
