MOTs set to resume in England, Scotland and Wales from 1 August


On 30 March, drivers were granted a 6-month exemption from MOT testing.
Lockdown restrictions are easing, and all drivers with an MOT due from 1 August are being urged to book an MOT test. This is a legal requirement.
Drivers who have an MOT test due before 1 August will still be granted the 6-month extension. For example, if your MOT is due on 31 July, it’ll be extended to 31 January 2021.
But even if your vehicle is exempt, you should take it to the garage immediately if you notice something wrong. You can still be prosecuted for driving an unsafe vehicle.

From 1 August MOT testing will again become mandatory so make sure to book sooner rather than later 😊

The industry body representing independent motor garages in the UK criticised the 6-month exemption for MOT tests, warning it will cause an increase in unroadworthy vehicles on UK roads.

The update on MOTs.

PLEASE NOTE - This does not exclude you from from keeping your vehicle being in a road worthy condition. Ignoring keeping your vehicle in a roadworthy state is very dangerous to you and others.

After speaking with police officers they are still being proactive for vehicle defects. Don’t think you’ll get away with it and I’m sure in these uncertain times fines are the last thing anyone wants!

MOTs and garages still available and will be after the 30th, if you’re well enough, take it, stay on top of it, stay safe. If not don’t.

We’d also like to ask customers to book either by email or phone. Both of which are on the website

We are taking steps to ensure the health and well being of staff and customers. This includes keeping distance from customers when possible. Gloves being worn and antibacterial being used on hands before and after driving cars.

As of Monday unfortunately there will be only one member of staff. So please be understanding that limited work can be carried out per day. Opening and closing times may change during this time

Just to let customers know we are open as normal through this difficult time. We will remain open until we are told otherwise. Some of our staff are in the high risk age group so be advised they may be off if they choose to do so.

We are offering pickup and drop off services to any elderly customers that require their car to be repaired/moted while they are in self quarantine
