Another 1st time pass today, this one is for Rosie who absolutely smashed her driving test with a near perfect drive with just 1 driver fault, well done Rosie amazing job 👏👏👏

Rosie with referred to me by one of my old customers (thanks Kaitlyn ❤️) after learning she was struggling with her then current instructor. Rosie felt she wasn’t being listened to or being understood which knocked her confidence. Having a clear understanding of her needs and how she wanted to be taught it didn’t take long for the confidence to start flowing so much so we managed to bring her test forward by 5 weeks!

I’m so happy for Rosie, she has genuinely worked so hard for this and I’m just so proud of her. Thanks for coming to me, I’ve enjoyed every minute of teaching you and you’ll certainly be missed, stay safe and enjoy.

Learning to drive or considering starting?

As a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor this year alone I’ve helped learners who have experienced both illegal instructors and what can only be described as poorly advised and unorganised trainee instructors.

As per the picture only an approved driving instructor (ADI) or a trainee instructor (PDI) can charge for lessons, both of switch should display their badge at all times or at least be able to present it when asked. If the person you are having lessons with cannot do this then it is illegal for them to charge for lessons and should be reported to the DVSA immediately!

Trainee instructors (PDI) can charge for lessons as they have passed 2 of their 3 exams which demonstrate they have the knowledge and skill, however the 3rd exam still needs to be passed which is their teaching exam, most take the option of a pink badge meaning they can learn and prepare for their 3rd exam whilst teaching. It’s been known that some don’t want you to know they’re a trainee and choose not to display their badge, please challenge them if theirs isn’t displayed as they could teaching illegally!

There seems to be quite a big influx of trainee instructors in the area from the bigger national schools so it’s always worth checking who you are with whether they are an ADI or PDI.

I want to make it clear there’s nothing wrong with having lessons with a trainee, some go about things the right way and go on to be really good instructors, unfortunately some don’t either way it’s your money and have a right to know who is teaching you.

Learning to drive safely isn’t always about finding the cheapest instructor, like most things you get what you pay for!

Congratulations to Mia who this morning passed her driving test at Colwick with just 3 driver faults 👏

Mia contacted me a few weeks ago after being told by her previous instructor that he’s not available for her test, after an assessment drive, it was obvious that with a few tweaks Mia would be more than capable of passing her test and today proved just that.

Well done again Mia, really proud with how you dealt with today especially with some many inconsiderate people practicing in the test centre when you came back!! Enjoy your car shopping, stay safe and all the best.

Early start this morning and well worth it, huge congratulations to Emine who this morning passed her test on her 1st attempt with just 1 driver fault an amazing effort well done 👏

🚨 TEST BOOKINGS & CANCELATIONS 🚨

This is the only place to book your driving test, please do not book using any 3rd party websites or apps.

Only pay £62 for a weekday test or £75 for a weekend / bank holiday test.

Please only use this website to look for cancellations and change your test! It is against the new booking rules / terms & conditions to use any 3rd party websites or apps. If you use these to swap your test, you will lose your online booking privileges meaning you’ll only be able to book and manage your test by phone, your test too may also get cancelled so it’s really not worth chancing it!

HINTS & TIPS

New tests become available Mondays at 6am, please be patient as you’re likely to be in a queue of several thousand, this does go down fairly quickly just persist.

Cancellations can appear anytime, there is also examiner overtime and new examiners starting so there are times where there will be a random drop of a good volume of tests, this is pot luck so when you can just keep checking and toggle through the weeks. This will be frustrating as the majority of the time there will be nothing there again just persist.

Have your licence number and test booking reference saved somewhere on your phone such as notes, you’ll need to input these every time you check for cancellations, it will be much easier and quicker to copy and paste these as opposed to typing them in.

I speak for the majority of instructors and learners when I say this is a frustrating situation at the moment, hopefully these changes will start to have a positive impact and reduce waiting times towards the end of the year if not early next year 🤞

Really proud of this one! Huge congratulations go to Megan this morning who smashed her driving test this morning with a near perfect drive just 1 driver fault.

Megan had her test cancelled hours before her original booking which for someone who is anxious is the worse thing to happen, nevertheless she held everything together very early this morning and got the job done 👍

Well done Megan, massively proud of you, now it’s time to relax and enjoy, it’s well deserved.
