Due to surrounding roadworks on Blue Boar Lane we are experiencing frequent power cuts and no internet so no landline.
When the phones are back up our provider will also restore our engaged tone as currently it rings when we are on a call which makes it look like we don't answer.

1.5 Golf R Line. Noise at idle and lower revs, goes away with clutch depressed. Had a listen with the electric stethoscope and it's coming from an output shaft in the box. Checking VW tech bulletins revealed it's a known issue requiring a straight forward fix with a modified part.
Also revealed a couple of outstanding recalls for software updates on the SOS and MIB systems which should resolve the problems the customer is having with those too.

Polo downpipe/cat which had a clamp on Flexi section fitted elsewhere was leaking badly. As the old genuine cat is still higher quality than an aftermarket we repair these whenever possible. Cheap replacements commonly bring the engine light on after fitting as the ECU picks up that the cat efficiency is lower.
We use a kit that makes sure the positioning is exactly where it was when doing the job from the start. Saves money and keeps a quality catalytic converter in the system. We're just welding this one up today to sort the blowing exhaust.

Adblue doing what adblue systems do best.. fault. This one's logging a code with a heater element bringing the engine light on. We see a multitude of faults with adblue, quite commonly level detection after refilling which then limits mileage until the vehicle won't start. We have dealer diagnostics which will reset level detection when aftermarket diag systems fail.

2018 2.0TDI T6 transporter which came in initially for an EGR pipe and glowplug replacement. Removal of an intake hose revealed emulsified oil in the throttle and traces of coolant in the intake manifold, EGR cooler and charge cooler were checked for leaks and the charge cooler was at fault this time. Both are common causes of coolant leaks into the intake.

Audi S5 Door control module with water damage to connector and circuit board. Requires a new module and terminal replacement at the connector. Vehicle had been to another garage with no central locking and window inop so they fitted a new genuine door lock which didn't fix the fault.

Rear haldex diff with droning bearings on a MK3 TT. Quick swap out for a used unit supplied by the customer. Audi don't specify repair instructions for this box and just offer an expensive replacement. We've sourced bearings and shims though and will use this old one as a learning tool so we can offer a repair service.
