You met the character, now finally after months of work you can meet Hurc the boat.

Hurc follows the true Bishy ethos of recycling. The boat started as a wreck, someones started project, the decking and fendering is 100% recycled plastic, the rails are are a mixture salvaged from other boats with support stays welded on the support stays are stainless reclaimed from some of our old Bishy boat drive shafts, even the blue paint on top came from tiding the workshop and tipping tins of paint together 😂.

Harlequin has moved on to a new owner, it served us well for 7 or so years but now Hurc takes the baton for Bishy support.

Bishy Guy has called in one of his friends to join the fun.

Meet Hurc, the super strong Hurcules beetle, Hurc will take charge of the heavy lifting.

Small business owners I'm sure you can relate, do you have that friend that's always been there? Someone who shares your posts time and time again. We do, Bishy is very fortunate to have a friend that goes way back to before this business owner ever worked on a boat, a friend that has been on the journey for every high and low life could throw.

A true friendship is a precious thing, so when asked if there is a local business that would be willing to sponsor the Bure Valley Lions training kit? no thought was needed, A big yes, Bishy will. It's our pleasure to be able to give a little back and supply these future stars with the kit they need.

Busy, busy Bishy,
Pllease be patient with us as we flag a little in the heat, it's exhausting! On the subject of heat, the river might look tempting to cool down but please stay in the boats or on the land and do not enter the water.

The temperatures are rising, this means we are looking forward to seeing more of you out on your Bishy adventures.

Not everyone wants the same from their boat hire, with that in mind before you book your boat please take a look of what we do not permit.

There is still question mark over alcohol, many companies have an outright no alcohol policy and in all honesty we are close to joining them. 'it's OK we have a designated driver!' it's not OK we want all party members safe, please respect our rules for your own safety and that of others, should you bring it we will ask you not to take it on board, the hire will be refused unless the alcohol is left behind.

We have been asked about water guns, why are they a problem? Groups with water guns, often staff outings with more than one boat, the aqua warfare leads to dangerous driving, people jumping around, moving around the inside and outde of the boat without due care, it's also antisocial to the other river users and for ourselves, it covers our equipment in river water that has to be sorted before another group can use it.

Magical Norwich.

It was a grey slightly mizzley Saturday evening but Norwich was still magical, so many hidden gems are spotted from river that are missed from the land.

The city route is a two hour trip or three hours if you want to make a half way pitstop with our friends at The Ribs Of Beef.

Enjoy Norwich by river 2 hour hires are £40 on our Traditional Bishy Boats and £45 on the Grande Boat.
