We are a small family owned and run boatyard on the Norfolk Broads. We have Holiday Cruisers, Houseboats, Sailing Boats, Motor Day Boats, Canoes and Rowing Boats.

Today was a day at Broads Bee getting things ready for another extraction and to jar some more honey. We got to witness the hummingbird hawk moth collecting lots of nectar , pretty spectacular up close. Have a good weekend everyone.

Put the shetland back in the water this morning, then we moved a hardy fishing 17 into the workshop, lifted her off the trailer and put her down onto blocks, we’ve got to sand a patch underneath as it looks to have a weak point where it’s sat in the trailer - previous repair cracked.
Also helped one of our mooring customers with a tyre issue, it had popped off the rim due to low pressure when recovering the boat from the water. Took it off , let it regain shape in the sun and a quick blast of air and it’s good to go!

A before and after of the outboard pad we replaced, looks much better and much stronger than what was there 🙈 had to do a bit of painting in situ as I may have scuffed it a little lining it all up 😅 back in the water tomorrow 👍🏻

Beautiful swallowtail butterfly completely unphased by the strimmer! Music added because the strimmer noise was awful in a video.

Happy Monday - pretty much everything in one photo for today 😂
Had a customer call up to see if we had a way of running his outboard to get a video for selling it. The outboard started lovely but didn’t have a good “pee stream” quick blast with a compressor and a poke and all was well.
10,000 steps of grass cutting today as it was cooler!
Little repair finished on one of the trailers in the photo.
Another coat of epoxy on the pad for Shetland outboard as the heat on Friday seem to dry it way too fast and we weren’t happy with the level of sealing in the edges.

Apologies for the lack of posting - few days off unexpectedly but back early this morning to beat the heat 🥵 lifted the engine off the Shetland, removed rotten pad of wood. Made a new one and epoxied the edges and hole in the middle - ready to sand and paint next week.
We put our thermometer in direct sunlight and it hit 46c not the smartest move to do any outside work mixed with the reflection off of the water. So we left!! Have a good weekend!

Happy Monday - very satisfying day today! Lifted out the pirate and gave her a very good scrub!! Perfect day to be covered in spray from the pressure washer. We also had to help one of our mooring customers with a throttle control box issue - made us scratch our heads for a Monday but we got there.

Started a little earlier today due to the weather but there’s worse jobs to do in the heat. 1st part of the boat clean done today, she’s looking better already. The pressure washer was not happy but we got it done eventually. Another trailer was dropped off for minor work on Monday - Adam had to leave early so that’s all for today. Have a good weekend 😊

Went and collected this pirate today, this is one washing job I’m looking forward to seeing the end result! Made a small start on this one today but the pressure washer decided it didn’t want to play in the heat 🙄
There’s a lot of lichen on her and she’s going to take a little bit of elbow grease but it’s not our first rodeo 😅

Spent a lot of today laying down 😂 intentionally I must add!
Gave the Shetland 2 coats of antifoul, she’s looking much fresher for the fish.
Laid under the trailer and bolted the jacking points to it, nice and subtle so they can’t damage legs walking round it!
And the cormorant all back together and rigged ready for the owner 😊
