IMPORTANT SAFETY UPDATE 14-8-2026
Ringwood Raceway, Swaffham Raceway, & Rolling Thunder Show
Drivers, pit crews, visitors.
We are committed to safe working & racing operations practices within our race events.
We asses risks and update where we can and action issues or concerns when reported & action on them when assessed and this includes the mitigating impact of risk from fire which may have opportunity to arise due to the severe dry weather conditions.
A government alert has been issued regarding fires, naked flames, bbq’s and we will extend this at our events to flame cutting, disc cutting, grinders. Petrols & heat sources that are part of the 3 things needed for fire.

2:- source
3:- ignition
It is important that everyone follows the government guidelines & alerts at all times, we have assessed our extra risks and implement not only the government guidelines but add the following at all our venues with immediate effect.
Strictly No Use of welders or disc cutting or heat at any time at our events for the foreseeable future, unless absolutely necessary, and before doing so you must contact a Marshall who is fire trained to be within your area overseeing at all times any use of the above, strictly no usage of the above without a trained Marshall over-seeing you.
Please note it must be an absolute last resort to request to do any of the above grinding cutting or welding and it is the decision of the race steward at all times to allow any of these works to take place.
Anyone who does not take our request of this will be breaching our assessed risk and emergency assessment and in doing so you may be asked to leave site.
All of our venues sitting either the edge of the New Forest which is currently under strained resources of first responce and fire crews, and our site at Swaffham is also extremely neighbouring local farmers very dry fields.
We want everyone to be safe whilst visiting and ask everyone to understand this is a situation that could cause severe pressure & strain on our local communities and especially our first response of fire crews, ambulance staff & police resources.
This is an evaluation of risk and we ask for your co-operation at all times until we get government updates which may mean we need to increase our assessments of risk or reduce risk if the government notifies us.
