"Why should I pay a garage just to LOOK at my car?"

We had this exact question this week, so let's answer it honestly. 👇

When your boiler packs in, a plumber charges to come out. When your lights trip, an electrician charges to attend. Nobody blinks. Both are skilled professionals giving up their time and expertise — and quite right too.

Your car is no different. In fact, it's more complex than ever. A modern vehicle has dozens of computers and hundreds of sensors all talking to each other. When something goes wrong, finding the actual cause takes proper diagnostic equipment, training, and time.

So when we charge to assess a fault, here's what you're really paying for:
✅ A trained technician's time
✅ Specialist diagnostic kit (the stuff that costs more than a small car)
✅ Knowing exactly what's wrong — not a guess
And that last point is the one that saves you money. The cost of an assessment isn't the cost of knowing something's wrong. It's the cost of knowing precisely what's wrong — so you're never paying for parts you didn't need.

We'd rather be upfront with you than throw parts at a problem and hope. That's not how we work. Never has been.

🔥Quick heads up — the forecast is showing 27-30°C by the bank holiday 🔥 and that warm weather is sticking around into half term next week.

If you're heading off with the family, three things are worth a quick check before you set off:

🛞 *Tyre pressures* — they need bumping up when the car's loaded with passengers, luggage and bikes
❄️ *Air con* — if it's not as cold as it used to be, it almost certainly needs a regas before you're stuck on the M6
🔧 *General once-over* — oil, coolant, brakes, the boring stuff that stops a holiday becoming a recovery story

We've got space Tuesday to Friday this week, then it gets tight.
