Another fabulous classic racer restored by JAL Restorations Ltd (although owned it’s is owned by me).

This short video was filmed at the Stafford International Classic Motorcycle Mechanics show. Although I was unaware of the filming I must thank the film maker.

Sadly there’s a section edited out which does add details regarding provenance and spec.

FOR SALE Bakker Suzuki GS1000.
Price is £15000 or offer. Might PX for something interesting.

Well it’s finally out of the workshop and running (sort of), need to drop the carb needles a notch or two. Should be ok to run up at Stafford show though, maybe have a play with it whilst there.

Spec is
Nico Bakker frame for GS1000
Engine is rebuilt but standard with just a light port job.
Forks are 38mm Marzocchi
Rear shock is WP.
Period alloy aftermarket wheels
AP Lockheed callipers.
AP Lockheed front master and Brembo rear.
Bakker rear sets.
Bakker bodywork.

Note the bike now has standard alternator, starter motor so on the button.

Just about to start mucking about with this again. Nothing serious just timing and carbs.

Well I’m almost finished with this one. I’ve built it as a period endurance racer, engine is quite stock but with a light port job, Keihin CR31 tickler carbs, new Boyer Micro ignition and Harris headers with a Yoshi style tail
Pipe.

Just a little wiring to do then I can start the old girl up. Followed by a little flattening of paint and a coat of lacquer in a few weeks.

It’s turned out ok, not modified, just about everything on the bike is period late 1970’s - the 4 fin callipers are a tiny bit later but of the AP CP2696 range.
