Grooms Garage Sweetlamb Timetrial 2026.
Brilliant turn out and successful day on Sunday 21st at sweet lamb. There’s a few big thank yous we would like to say. Firstly a big thank you to every single person who were involved with the organisation of the event. A big thank you to every single marshal who stood out in the heat to ensure the safety of each and everyone at the event. A big thank you to our sponsors Keith and Tracy Jones at Grooms Garage Ltd.
Few words below from our Clarke of Course, Wayne Jones:
Well, think I've managed to cool down and catch up on some sleep, and also the midge bites are not itching quite as much.
As Clerk there are many people I need to thank that made running this event possible. The first group are the Orange Army of marshals, rescue and recovery crews who stood outside in the heat and the dust. Without these volunteers, there would be no event.
The second group is the team of behind the scenes organisers. This event takes over 6 months to put together and without this group of volunteers, again, there would be no event.
Thanks must also go to all the competitors who supported us. For those I had chance to speak to, everyone seemed to enjoy the day, which does make all the work put in worthwhile.
Lastly, I must thank Caroline and Lily. Not only have they had to put up with my occasional grumpyness (!), but also were part of the organising and running the event on the day.
To say I'm very happy with how the event run would be an understatement. Out of the 6 stages, 4 ran exactly on time and the other two were 3 and 2 minutes late starting, due to moving broken down cars. I think that's a sign of how good the whole community of the event worked.
Myself, Caroline and Lily will be taking a bit of time off organising next year to get some other projects done, so to have the event go so well is just brilliant.
