What a great time was had by all who came to our fund raising Reggae event for Falconry Experience Wales & the Aficelt Vulture Research project in Africa to protect these wonderful birds. It was lovely to hear from Barry about all the work there taking place and to see the footage of the birds and the tracking devices the funds will help to provide for these birds survival. It is tragic to hear if nothing is done then there is a possibility the hooded vultures and more breeds could be extinct in 7 years, as these birds are vital in preventing the spread of diseases, so we hope more work can carry on. If anyone wants to donate to this cause please contact Barry & Luce direct and any funds received will be much appreciated. We had a fun time with singing and dancing for these birds and raised £18.00 with a beautiful Autumn Wreath made by Kim Corbett so thank you so much and for your help getting the Marquee ready. We raised £55.00 for the Falconry Vulture Feeding Experience and to meet Vinnie who is amazing. The grand total raised was £205.00 so thank you all again for your donations and coming out on a rainy night to raise what we could for this such worthy cause. If anyone has any photos or videos they want to share with me then please do as I was having fun but managed to to take a few and especially of Luce in her outfit 🤣❤️

Just a reminder to our owners that we have our charity event this bank holiday, this is tomorrow night from 7.30pm and in aid of Falconry Experience Wales and the Aficelt Vulture Research, supporting conservation, research and education for Africa's hooded vultures. This is such a worthy cause and means so much to Barry & Luce to help protect these wonderful birds. We have our Reggae Night event so please come along if you can, to hear about these beautiful birds, hear the great music of Reggae and have fun. We are having our usual raffle so any donations for this would be appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you there and let's raise what we can for this good cause 🦅❤ See less

Let's help natural plants which need no planting grow in our gardens and area's on our parks. These are great pollinators and each one is feeding something so let's help feed our bee's and insects 🐝🦋🐞🦗🦟😍

Eight plants that most gardens grow entirely on their own, without any encouragement. Each one is feeding something. 🌿

What gets pulled up without a second thought:

— Sweet violet: the sole larval host plant for several British fritillary butterflies, including the silver-washed fritillary
— Dandelion: the first reliable nectar of the year when almost nothing else is flowering
— Clover: fixes nitrogen in the soil and feeds bees from spring through to the first frosts
— Common chickweed: one of the earliest plants to flower at the end of winter, when pollinators have almost nothing else
— Wood sorrel: lemon-flavoured leaves that close at night, feeding butterflies through the season
— Selfheal: those low violet spikes in the lawn that bumblebees work steadily all summer
— Greater plantain: the broad rosette in every crack — edible, and used in traditional plant medicine for centuries
— Herb Robert: the pink-flowered crane's-bill that appears in every shady corner, feeding early pollinators and carrying a long history of folk use

Each one is doing a job. 🌱

What a lovely day to have a quick stroll from our office to our nature garden and to the lake, no ducks on there at the time but plenty dragonflies, butterflies and bees. It was lovely just to hear the sounds of nature. Wishing Sir David Attenborough a very happy 100th birthday. This legendary man has brought the natural world into our homes and inspired so many people to become a naturalist with his documentaries over the years and to help our wonderful wildlife to survive over the years to come 🎊🎂
