Abarth 595 – Turbo Upgrade – 204bhp!

This MY2016 Abarth 595 originally left the factory with 145bhp and the smaller IHI turbo. It came to us after being upgraded with the 180bhp-spec turbo and 390cc injectors, ready to be properly set up and tuned.

The customer had also fitted 3-bar sensors, but the Bosch ME17.3.0-equipped cars already have these as standard. For reference, it’s only the earlier ME7 ECU variants that require the MAP sensor upgrade.

The stock run was completed with all the upgraded hardware already fitted, which explains why it was producing considerably more than its original 145bhp output. Once tuned, it comfortably cleared the 200bhp mark and now pulls cleanly all the way to 7,000rpm.

Volkswagen Transporter T6 2.0 TDI – 199bhp!

An MY2020 T6 Transporter in for Stage 1 tuning. Powered by the 2.0 TDI CXHA engine with a six-speed manual transmission, this one produced strong standard figures before gaining nearly 37bhp and 68lbft.

A great improvement throughout the rev range, giving this Transporter considerably stronger performance and extra pulling power.

Abarth 595 – 188bhp!

An MY2015 Abarth 595 in for tuning, fitted with the smaller IHI turbo and Bosch ME17.3.0 management system.

This one already had all the right intake and exhaust modifications to maximise the gains. The little IHI starts to run out of airflow from around 4,500rpm and simply cannot maintain the requested boost, but we still achieved some very healthy gains throughout the rev range.

Audi S3 (8V) – 360bhp!

Another EA888 Gen 3 S3 on the dyno, this time with an aftermarket intake already fitted and in for our Stage 1 ECU and TCU tuning.

These engines continue to respond extremely well to software, with this one picking up nearly 47bhp and almost 40lbft, while carrying the extra power strongly through the top end.

The TCU software complements the ECU tune with revised torque limits and transmission strategy, allowing the drivetrain to make proper use of the additional performance.

VW Golf GTE – 276bhp & 365lbft! ⚡️

Something a little different on the dyno today — the MK7 Golf GTE.

With its 1.4 TSI petrol engine working alongside the electric motor, these respond really well to software. This one received our Stage 1 ECU tune along with TCU tuning, giving a big improvement in both power and torque.

Stock Tune = 226bhp & 297lbft
Celtic Stage 1 = 276bhp & 365lbft

That’s a gain of 50bhp and 68lbft, with the TCU calibration working alongside the ECU tune to make the most of the extra performance.

Not bad at all for a GTE! ⚡️💨

Maserati Ghibli 3.0 V6D – 326bhp! 🇮🇹

An MY2017 Maserati Ghibli in for some dyno development, fitted with the 3.0-litre M15746D V6 diesel and ZF 8-speed transmission.

Interestingly, the diesel engine beneath the Maserati badge has its roots with VM Motori and is part of the A630/RA630 engine family, with closely related versions also found across various Jeep, Chrysler and Ram applications.

This one received our Stage 1 ECU and TCU tuning, delivering strong gains throughout the rev range and a notable increase in torque.
