2018 Fiat Ducato Motorhome | Kenwood Upgrade 🚐

Our client recently purchased this motorhome and wanted to bring the outdated factory stereo up to date.

Due to the size of the vehicle and having no steering wheel controls, they opted for Kenwood’s flagship DMX9724XDS 10.1” floating display.

Packed with the latest technology including Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & DAB+, but one feature particularly suited to this vehicle is Sygic navigation, allowing motorhome-friendly routing based on vehicle size and restrictions.

With no steering controls, the physical buttons and large centre volume k**b make everyday operation much easier while driving.

Porsche 987 | Kenwood Stereo Upgrade 🔥

Another popular upgrade through the doors, this time with our client travelling all the way from Port Talbot.

As these Porsches become more popular, one thing that really shows their age is the factory stereo. There was only one obvious choice — the Kenwood DMX8021DABS.

Sitting perfectly in the factory location for a clean OEM-style finish, it brings the Porsche right up to date with Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & DAB+.

This particular 987 was also equipped with the factory BOSE sound system, which we successfully integrated with the new Kenwood unit, retaining the premium factory audio setup.

2022 Ford Transit Custom | Kenwood Upgrade 🔥

A new client travelled all the way from Cardiff after being told their factory Ford SYNC 3 system couldn’t be upgraded.

We downgraded to upgrade — reverting the vehicle back to the base stereo setup, allowing us to install the Kenwood F920DS 9” floating display, bringing the van right up to date with Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & DAB+.

The client also wanted an OEM-style brake light reversing camera. With the rear spoiler blocking the normal camera angle, we modified the factory spoiler and installed a dual reversing camera, giving the perfect rear view while maintaining a clean OEM finish.

A new client travelled to us after finding SJ Concepts through the Audiotec Fischer website. Being heavily into SQ (Sound Quality), the client had already done plenty of research and purchased a complete MATCH plug & play speaker upgrade, which they installed themselves.

The problem? The factory system simply didn’t have the power or control needed to get the best from the new speakers.

We added a MATCH UP 8DSP amplifier, giving us the power and full DSP control needed to tune the system precisely to the client’s listening preferences. The difference was huge — more detail, better separation, improved staging and considerably more output while retaining excellent sound quality.

The client wanted the BMW to remain completely OEM, including keeping the original factory head unit.

To take the system another step further, we installed a Bluetooth audio streamer directly into the DSP amplifier. This allows high-quality music playback independently of the factory audio source, feeding directly into the MATCH system.

A dedicated volume controller was also installed discreetly, allowing the client to control the DSP volume directly.

Client came in with their work vehicle, and being used to wireless Apple CarPlay in their personal vehicle, the original factory system was definitely due an upgrade.

We opted for the Kenwood DMX-F920DS, featuring a large 9” fully adjustable floating display, bringing the L200 right up to date with:

• Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
• DAB+ Digital Radio
• Bluetooth hands-free & audio streaming
• Fully integrated installation

Alongside the stereo upgrade, we installed an OEM-style reversing camera, neatly integrated into the tailgate for a factory finish and a clear rear view directly through the Kenwood screen.

A simple upgrade that completely modernises this Mitsubishi L200 while keeping everything looking clean and OEM. 👌

New client all the way from Cardiff visited us looking to bring their 2012 Mercedes SL up to date with a much-needed stereo upgrade. 🔊

The vehicle was still running the original COMAND system, which had become very outdated compared with today’s technology.

We upgraded it to the Kenwood DMX8021DABS, giving the customer wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB+ and Bluetooth while keeping a clean OEM-style installation.

As this SL was equipped with the premium Harman Kardon sound system, the factory audio operates via fibre optic. Using a dedicated MOST interface, we were able to fully retain the original HK amplifier and speaker system.

The end result — modern technology combined with the fantastic factory Harman Kardon sound. 👌

2016 Toyota Hilux in for a few modern upgrades! 🔊📱

First up, we removed the outdated factory stereo and replaced it with a Kenwood DMX8021DABS, bringing the Hilux right up to date with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and DAB radio.

We then installed a discreet OEM-style reverse camera, mounted neatly in the factory location for a clean finish.

While carrying out the installation, we found the original speakers were barely producing any output. These were upgraded to VIBE Slick 2-way components in the front and VIBE Slick coaxials in the rear, giving much clearer vocals and improved detail throughout the cabin.

To finish the system, we added a 10-inch hideaway subwoofer, bringing in the low-end depth and punch that the door speakers simply can’t reproduce.

A massive improvement while keeping everything looking clean and OEM. 👌

We often get asked: BMW factory audio is so poor — how do you achieve a genuinely premium soundstage while keeping everything looking factory?

The answer is a fully active HELIX system. 🔊

Thanks to HELIX dedicated fitting kits, wiring looms and plug-and-play integration, we can transform the factory BMW system without compromising the OEM finish.

At the front, we create a 3-way active soundstage:
• HELIX i3 tweeters positioned high in the pillars for detail and staging
• HELIX i3 midrange speakers in the front doors for vocals and instruments
• HELIX i5 midbass drivers under the front seats for punch and impact

At the rear, HELIX i3 coaxials provide rear fill.

Everything is individually powered from a 6-channel DSP amplifier. Each speaker can then be digitally EQ’d, crossed over and time-aligned independently — this is what we mean by FULL ACTIVE.

For the low frequencies, we separate the bass completely. A HELIX UP 1FX amplifier is linked into the system and dedicated solely to powering the HELIX subwoofer.

The result?
Factory appearance. Huge soundstage. Precise imaging. Powerful controlled bass. Fully tuned to the vehicle and the customer.

Brand-new customer came to us with their pride and joy — a 2010 BMW E61. The car was fantastic, but like many BMWs of this era, the factory audio left a lot to be desired.

After listening to a few of our demo installations, the customer opted for a full HELIX sound upgrade focused on sound quality while retaining a completely OEM appearance.
