Bugs is a 1930s Hillman Tourer, which Barry restored twenty odd years’ ago for a London based client, who has used Bugs regularly during the Easter and summer holidays, when they have spent time at their Norfolk retreat.
Bugs was previously owned by our client’s father, purchased in the 1960s, and was brought back to life by Barry. Bugs had been in the hands of more than one previous restorer, who had furnished a lot of paperwork of mechanical, engine and various work being done, that had in reality never even been attempted.
It is so sad when we see this happening.
It was a moment of great delight when Bug’s owner’s mother came to visit to see her husband’s car restored back to former glory and then handed over the original ignition key that we had all been looking for!
Over the years, Bugs has either returned to us, or Barry has visited his Norfolk home to service and prepare him for the owner’s family to enjoy through the warmer months. (The videos were taken on one such occasion.)
The family have enjoyed so much time over the years, taking Bugs out to rallies, a country pub or just for a pleasant drive, but sadly the time has come when they have decided that Bugs needs a new home.
You can imagine, having been in the family for two generations, it is not a decision taken easily. Grandchildren are not as interested as our owner had hoped and feels Bugs needs to be enjoyed by a family who will get as much fun driving him out and about as her family has.
Bugs is with us here at BSC HQ, having been checked over by Barry and any genuine enquiries concerning becoming Bugs’ new home and owner should be made to Barry on 07914004938 or email us on [email protected] and we will be happy to discuss price and details on behalf of our client.
