I got sent to tune the carbs on this MG....
Found - Low engine oil/leaking. Misplaced carb gasket, old fuel filter, pink antifreeze 😱 . Worn distributor and the most carbonated plugs I've seen. Oh and knackered coolant hoses + Contaminated clutch fluid.

I was asked to look at why this car struggles up hills and doesn't run that nice. I found far too many problems to list ...

I found far too many problems to list here.
But, the main problem found...... no compression in cyl no.6 !
Here we have a 5cyl P4 that has gone unnoticed by many. + Inoperable vacuum advance unit, poor carb settings and odd spark plugs....

Ah the classic P4 problem. Water coming in through the bonnet strip and leaking into all the spark plugs and HT leads.

I drove out to High Wickham to service this lovely P4 . I tarted up a few things whilst I was in there too.

Awkward to look under the dashboard... but I found the fault! Even tho the ignition light was working (lighting up) . It was actually Faulty!

Who wants to buy this gorgeous Vanden Plas that I've done aload of work on to get up together? The owner has got a new toy! So Jasper needs a new home. It's a really good car! New front brakes. New radiator. New exhaust! Fully serviced. Hydragas all done. Nice polished paint work and great interior. Click vroom. £4250 ono . In Northampton area.

Customer said he was going to sell this volovo for spares or repairs as it keeps cutting out and running rough. The local garage couldn't find what was wrong with it.
I diagnosed it as the throttle position sensor. The car runs perfectly now it's unplugged! So I've ordered a genuine Bosch replacement part to fit.
A modern classic saved.
