I was busy yesterday working on a Datsun 240Z, when I received a phone call from a stranded Rover P4 owner on holiday. The poor guy had put the car into a local garage to be looked at as it was running poorly, but the car broke down again as soon as he entered the motorway! Once recovered off the motorway he paid an auto electrician to come out and look at the car.
The tech told the customer it was a fuel issue rather than electrical.....
Tim phoned me up for help and told me the symptoms. I was able to diagnose it right away over the phone and the customer was able to fit his own spare ignition condenser to get her running perfectly again. 🥰

After fitting new brake shoes to this Metro, I couldn't get the drum back on! It was very confusing..... Until I found the handbrake linkage arm inside seized !

So this is why the engine wouldn't turn over fully...... stuck valve on a Rover P6 2000 that hasn't run for 8yrs.

Good job my jump leads are long! 😄 . New starter motor fitted to the Cobra and a few loose connections sorted out.

I have enjoyed working on this lovely old Daimler. Refurbished the Brake master cylinder and fitting new wheel cylinders to front of car (no hydraulics on the rear!) .
