Did you know greyhounds have very little body fat and a naturally thin coat compared with many other dog breeds?

This means they can be more sensitive to changes in temperature – so keeping them comfortable and appropriately warm or cool is an important part of looking after them. 🐾💚

It’s also one of the reasons you might spot greyhounds wearing coats when the temperature drops! 🧥

Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes to ensure our greyhounds are ready to race? 🐕💭

We recently caught up with Michelle Tromans at our sister track, Dunstall Park Greyhounds, to get an insight into the important welfare checks and routines that take place before, during and after racing.

From checking for signs of lameness to monitoring their overall wellbeing, there's a lot of care and attention that goes on behind the scenes! 🩺🐾

Well done to Tom Heilbron and team and especially Ballymac Sargie by winning the Cat 1 at Star Pelaw. It’s another success for Newcastle attached greyhounds.

Sargie has been a briliant greyhound for the team over the yearsand to win as a senior is a testament to the kennel.

It’s great to see the success of our trainers greyhounds all over the country.

Keep it up!

Hopefully more cat 1 success coming at Dunstall Park, Sheffield and Sunderland in the next few months.

Then the big one the PGR All England Cup in December!
