Important information about MOT’s.
It’s the first of September tomorrow which means it’s the busiest time for MOT stations, not just us but all MOT stations. We will be flat out from now until the end of May.
To make life easier for you and for us please present your vehicle for MOT at least 2 weeks before your expiry date. You can present your vehicle 1 calendar month minus 1 day in advance and if your car passes you get a 13 month MOT ( the sentence below your expiry date on your mot gives you the earliest date you car bring your vehicle in )
If your car fails MOT on ‘ major defects’ you can legally still drive your car and your MOT is still valid providing your MOT is done before expiry date, if you book in on the day it expires and it fails then you shouldn’t be driving your car once MOT expires.
If your car fails on ‘dangerous defects’ you shouldn’t be driving your car even if MOT is still valid.
If your car fails its MOT you get 10 working days for a retest which works out at 14 days including weekends however if your MOT is done on a Saturday you only get 13 days.
We send out MOT text reminders 4 weeks in advance so if possible reply and book in ASAP.
We don’t want your car to fail, if it fails it then becomes our problem, we want it to pass first time and we’ll see you next year before it’s due.
Please remember we don’t make the fault on the car we find it so go easy on us if car fails MOT.
