Whatever the reason, you’ve decided to put your car back to standard. Here is what to expect when you tell your ECU it’s time to be "just friends" again...

The Flashback: Putting it back to standard means flashing the Engine Control Unit (ECU) back to its factory software. We plug into the OBD port (or this case, bench the ecu) and overwrite your spicy tune with the automotive equivalent of a beige cardigan.
Tracking Down Your Ex (Tuner) Your best bet is going back to the original tuning company. They usually keep a backup of your original factory file in their digital vault. If you go elsewhere, another tuner can source the stock file, but it might cost you a bit more.

Quick & Painless (Mostly) The actual software overwrite takes under an hour.
The Hardware Reality Check, If you went full "Boy Racer" and bolted on upgraded exhausts, intercoolers, or intake kits, you can't just flash the software and walk away. 2021 BMW M340d engine and gearbox tuned!

Tuning the the mighty BMW unlocks massive performance from its 3.0-litre B57 twin-turbo straight-six diesel engine. While it leaves the factory with a healthy 340 hp and 700 Nm of torque, a Stage 1 upgrade turns it into a torque monster capable of out-accelerating standard petrol equivalents

With this in mind, we did a stage 1 tune on the Gen3 ZF-8hp gearbox too, because of the torque levels it's highly recommended to tune the TCU which decreases shifting times, increases clamping pressure and stops the gearbox from wearing prematurely, doing this also keeps the revs higher than usual and stops the car from granny shifting!

Making the family wagon pull like a train 🚀

2017 BMW 320D M-sport Xdrive (bit of a mouthful) in for stage 1 engine and gearbox tune!
We love tuning BMW's (as you all know) but this one came from factory with a pretty puncy engine anyway, but why not improve on that if we can...
Firstly- throttle response- let's make that Immediate, let's make it crisp, make the car feel more alive!
Secondly, let's increase that mid-range torque so it pulls like a train, 462Nm is a great amount of torque for overtaking when needed, pulling the car up hills when you have the wife, kids and dogs in it.

And lastly, let's get that gearbox tuned to handle the extra torque, we sharpened early torque converter lockup in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears, drastically reducing clutch slip and making the xDrive power delivery feel instant, also adjusting the shift points so the car does not fall into the trap of short shifting into 8th gear when you don't want or need it to!
Out on the road now this car feel like a bit of an animal!
We increased the horsepower by a 22% and increased the torque by 16%
