Triumph stag v8 🔧

This week we are focusing on the triumph stag. It’s in for a general look over and tidy up before possibly being shipped out to Australia!

We have gone through and changed most of the perishable items such as bushes, hoses and hangers. Whilst doing these jobs it’s nice to refurbish all the small things that have to be removed.

A more serious problem we have found is a poorly repaired cam cap, this has allowed the bearing to slide out of the cap and wear itself away.

TRIUMPH TR6 - head gasket replacement 🔧

This TR6 came in the workshop running poorly and with clutch issues. This week we have got the car running on all 6 and replaced the clutch! A worn clutch fork was found to be the culprit for the issue.

After taking the car out for a test drive, it was discovered that the head gasket also needed replacing.

Mercedes 450 W116 🔧

This Mercedes came to us to refresh the underside and to go through all the small jobs that all add up!

We have refreshed the underside and whilst the car was up in the air we have re fitted the exhaust, re fitted all handbrake components, checked all fluids in the drive train and fixed the play in the steering.

Other jobs included: adjusting the idle, service, investigating leaks, battery cut off and a nut and bolt check of major components.

MINI week! 🔧

This week we have all the minis in!

We have a 1320 modified mini first! This has come to us for a general look over before going for a MOT and to fill the sunroof in.

The grey mini is in to have the dual carburettor set up changed back to the standard single and a tune up.

The light blue mini is in to make it road safe for its trip to France, we are in the process of changing the brakes from 7” to 7.5”. Other jobs have included an overhaul of the cooling system, replacing front wheel bearings and making the gauges work in the instrument cluster.

AK427 Cobra 🔧

The cobra is going back to the owner this week! We have carried out some vital work to make the car safe to be on the road.

We found that the original steering rack, inner tie rods and column all had lots of playing them. The steering rack itself was leaking as quick as you could fill it. It has been replaced with an E36 purple tag rack! Need to be able to steer when you have an LS3!

General maintenance, such as: fluids, filters, brackets and safety locks/wire have also been re done.

Triumph TR6 🔧

This week the TR6 has been finished! After a long list of jobs, including: new clutch, new head gasket, bushes, brake master, clutch master and full tune.

After all this work the car has been tuned by Stanton motorsport on the rolling road to make good use of the triple webbers!

Jaguar S Type - 3.8 🔧

This week we have been focusing on this jaguar s type, it is in for later power steering conversion, a high toque starter motor and new flywheel.

The new subframe has been mocked up in the car and modifications have been made to accommodate the updated steering box. The next step is to fully build the front subframe with all the suspension!

The starter motor was jamming due to wear, so a new flywheel and start motor combo is needed

This MX5 is much beloved by its owner and was in a very sorry state.
The chassis rails completely rotted out (a common problem on these) we had to remove the engine, gearbox and front subframe to gain access but now all the rot is chopped out and replaced with fresh metal, painted, cavity waxed and undersealed.
We also replaced the water pump as it was grinding a few gaskets and bushes, a new stainless exhaust, stainless radiator, battery and tyres all round.
Now it's freshly MOTd and ready for the customer to enjoy again.

This lovely condition low mileage Mini SPI Cooper came in after suffering with running issues the customer had been to other "specialists" that had replaced many components which had not rectified the fault. Now sorted and running sweet we also replaced the suspension with uprated cones and adjustable trumpets.
