Few vehicles enjoy the enduring status of the Range Rover Classic. By the time the final "Soft Dash" models entered production between March 1994 and February 1996, Land Rover had refined its pioneering luxury 4x4 into its most sophisticated and desirable form. Produced alongside the newly introduced P38A, these last-of-the-line Classics combined the timeless styling of the original 1970 design with a more modern interior, improved ergonomics and a generous level of equipment, making them among the most sought-after Range Rover Classics today.
This exceptional example began life in Japan before being imported to the United Kingdom, its years in the country's dry, car-friendly climate helping to preserve its condition. Finished in the striking special-order shade of Biarritz Blue, it presents beautifully, complemented by a Grey leather interior that has been professionally reupholstered since its return to Britain.
The current owner acquired the Range Rover in 2019 and subsequently entrusted it to the respected Oxfordshire specialists Kingsley Cars for a comprehensive inspection and mechanical upgrade. Their work included the installation of a 4.6-litre Rover V8, transforming the driving experience with a welcome increase in performance and effortless torque, while retaining the character that defines the original model. A bespoke stainless steel exhaust system was fitted as part of the conversion, and the vehicle has covered just 6,000 miles since the work was completed.
