I've been self employed for just over a year now and a couple of months ago I got my own unit 💪

I'm still mobile but now I can take vehicles to my unit which has a ramp to do bigger jobs 🛠

Some things that need the ramp are:
✅️ Clutches and flywheels
✅️ Turbos
✅️ Wet belts

Still doing general mobile repairs too so let me know if you need anything doing - big or small 😁

Really enjoyed working on this D reg Astra Estate 🚗

It's been sat in a garage for about 25 years and the owner decided it was time to get it back on the road!

It needed a lot of work and some of the things I did were:
✔️ Fitted a new fuel tank & pipes
✔️ Fitted an upgraded carburetor
✔️ Replaced the cam belt and water pump
✔️ Stripped, cleaned and replaced the brakes
✔️ Full Service & MOT

And now it's fully restored and on the road! 🙌

This customer's car dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree when a belt snapped and they lost all electrics 🎄

They managed to get it to their drive and I went over to have a look and found that the lower crank pulley had snapped which drives the auxiliary belt so I sourced a replacement, fitted it and he was on his way! 🚗

I've been doing a variety of jobs recently from electrical faults to windscreen motor replacements and then also lots of clutches as usual! 🔧

I've been busy fitting a few clutches recently! 💪

This customer broke down and had to be towed back home. 🚨

I went round to see what the problem was, saw the clutch had burnt out, and then went back to fit a new one 🛠

The problem with clutches is that you often don't notice they are going until it's too late but things to look out for are:
✔️ High biting point when changing gear
✔️ An unpleasant smell when you start accelerating

Some of the things I've done this week:

⚫️ Replaced CV boots on 2 cars that failed their MOTs
🔴 Wired a dash camera in
⚫️ Fitted a fuse box on a Renault
🔴 Fitted an alternator
⚫️ Fitted a turbo charger on a van
🔴 Did a vehicle inspection on a car which has had a few issues and found a coolant leak

Loving the flexibility of being mobile and it's great being to help people as soon as they have a problem 🙌

The dreaded MOT fail 😫❌️

If you went an MOT only centre, you will need to find someone who can fix it in the retest window of 10 working days 🚙

A customer contacted me today as their car had failed on a track rod end and a ball joint dust cover. The report can sound worse than it is though so don't stress! 😌

All fixed now and booked in for the retest 🙌
