Why do these things just keep going? 🔧
This 2015 Yaris 1.33 is a good example of Toyota doing things the Toyota way.
Under the bonnet is the 1.33-litre 1NR-FE:
🔧 Naturally aspirated
⛓️ Timing chain
⚙️ Dual VVT-i
📐 11.5:1 compression ratio
🧠 Even the crankshaft is slightly offset to help reduce internal friction.
No huge power figure. No turbo. Nothing particularly dramatic.
Just some clever engineering behind a small petrol engine with a serious reputation for reliability.
And Burning Red Metallic suits it rather well. 🔴
