PDMCC

PDMCC Pendle & District Model Car Club (PDMCC) is one of the oldest RC Racing facilities in the UK. The driver's rostrum is a permanent structure with a roof.

Founded in 1993 it's been a feature of national and European races over the years and is the second longest standing club in the country! Our complex at Lomeshaye Way in Nelson is acknowledged to be the finest of its kind available anywhere in the UK! The Club is a Members Club, so it's totally independent of any other organisation/company and has a committee consisting of a Chairman/Vice Chairman

, Treasurer, Secretary and a number of driver representatives who are all elected annually. The Club is pleased to be affiliated to the British Radio Car Association. Annual Membership Fees are £30 or £20 for under 16's. The race fee is £10 per meeting for members and £12 for non members. The Club's Track is situated off Lomeshaye Way, Nelson, BB9 7AF in the heart of Pendle Witch Country. The cars we race are 1/10th & 1/8th scale buggy’s, radio controlled 2WD & 4WD nitro powered & electric, The nitro buggy’s are powered by 3.5cc glow engines producing around 2 bhp. Giving them a top speed of 60 mph and an ability to reach this speed in 3.2 seconds. Considerable skill is required to drive these cars competitively and races prove popular with spectators. Especially with the speed, noise and airtime they get off our jumps! A typical 1/8th Club meeting consists of four or five rounds of 6-minute heats. Automatic computer controlled lap-counting facilities combined with the BBK race programme are used for race control purposes. Each driver's best times from these rounds determines which final they race in. All finals are 20min long. Drivers score points at each meeting based upon their finishing position in their final and these count towards the Club's season championship. We have an end of season raffle and trophy ceremony for all members so everyone has a chance to take something home!

Great days racing yesterday a big thank you to all that attended, we hope you enjoyed the new track and facilities. It was nice to see some new faces and 10th boys giving 8th ago, feedback was very positive on the new layout 👍

Qualifying Ebuggy

Phil Carrick was pushed hard by the old Tamiya legend Jamie Booth and the Southport 10th boys hot on his heals, but Phil managed to hold his nerve and pull out 3 first in round and take overall TQ by 3 seconds.

Qualifying Nitro

Dave Crompton was on it like a car bonnet with first in all 5 rounds of qualifying and naturally TQ 😁pulling 44 second laps out the bag straight from the off, leaving the next fast cars some 2 seconds a lap off the pace. Graham Akeroyd also showed great pace, we may need to check his prescription next race as he continues to show the younger racers how it’s done 🫡

Ebuggy B final

Lee Eddison managed to take the win starting from 5th with Dominic Hindle only 2 seconds behind after 10 minutes of racing and Stephen Jones on 3rd only 10 seconds behind Lee, all 5 top cars finished on 11 laps showing just how close the racing was.

Ebuggy A final leg 1

Chris Long took the win starting from 4th a fantastic result on his debut meeting in 8th scale, with Phil only 4 seconds behind, and Harry Sayle having a solid run to hold 3rd place.

Ebuggy A final leg 2 and overall result.

Phil Carrick dug deep and under new pressure held 1st place with a new fastest time to secure him the overall win, Chris Long came 2nd just 8 seconds behind Phil and Harry held 3rd that was a great result after a difficult start on the first lap mayhem and Jamie Booth hot on his heals.

Nitro B final

Solid run from Adam Clayton to hold 1st place with a 2 lap lead and take the bump up place in the A main, Kevin Brown also holding 2nd with a good run and Mick Fallows holding 3rd place only 10 seconds behind Kev. Geoff Ribchester came 4th from starting 6th on his debut in 8th buggy and from the grin on his face I think he’ll be back. No podium picture sorry boys my mistake.

Nitro A final

Dave Crompton kindly gave everybody a 45 second head start after a flame out on the line, probably just to make it interesting 🤷‍♂️ but still managed to pull it back and take the win, Brandon Hill managed to take 2nd after starting 6th on the grid so brilliant drive to finish the day and John Huyton came from 5th to 3rd with a solid run 💪

Extra notes, thankyous and things to do.

Pit lane car speed needs addressing, safety first!
Track patch repairs completed by racers through out the day.
Russell popped in and helped in race control
Lee and Neil race set up and Timing.
Butty van for keeping us fed.
Thanks to whoever topped up the generator, proper thankless task🤦🏻‍♂️.
Marshall point 4, needs a back net.

Next meeting 13th Sep, round 9 hope you can all make it, Thanks again Team PDMCC
