PDMCC

PDMCC Pendle & District Model Car Club (PDMCC) is one of the oldest RC Racing facilities in the UK. The driver's rostrum is a permanent structure with a roof.

Founded in 1993 it's been a feature of national and European races over the years and is the second longest standing club in the country! Our complex at Lomeshaye Way in Nelson is acknowledged to be the finest of its kind available anywhere in the UK! The Club is a Members Club, so it's totally independent of any other organisation/company and has a committee consisting of a Chairman/Vice Chairman

, Treasurer, Secretary and a number of driver representatives who are all elected annually. The Club is pleased to be affiliated to the British Radio Car Association. Annual Membership Fees are £30 or £20 for under 16's. The race fee is £10 per meeting for members and £12 for non members. The Club's Track is situated off Lomeshaye Way, Nelson, BB9 7AF in the heart of Pendle Witch Country. The cars we race are 1/10th & 1/8th scale buggy’s, radio controlled 2WD & 4WD nitro powered & electric, The nitro buggy’s are powered by 3.5cc glow engines producing around 2 bhp. Giving them a top speed of 60 mph and an ability to reach this speed in 3.2 seconds. Considerable skill is required to drive these cars competitively and races prove popular with spectators. Especially with the speed, noise and airtime they get off our jumps! A typical 1/8th Club meeting consists of four or five rounds of 6-minute heats. Automatic computer controlled lap-counting facilities combined with the BBK race programme are used for race control purposes. Each driver's best times from these rounds determines which final they race in. All finals are 20min long. Drivers score points at each meeting based upon their finishing position in their final and these count towards the Club's season championship. We have an end of season raffle and trophy ceremony for all members so everyone has a chance to take something home!

🛠️ TRACK WORK WEEKEND 🛠️

This coming weekend the track will be closed for practice as we are having another weekend of work. It's finally time to change the layout!!

On both days we'll be down prepping the site and making the layout changes planned - We need as many hands as possible to make this light work so if you can spare any time over this weekend it really would be appreciated! Refreshments will be provided.

List of work:

- Repair final sections of astro that need attention
- Remove all current layout markings and replace with new pipe
- Full layout change
- Weeding/Grass cutting
- Painting toilet block
- General site tidy/litter picking

We want to keep the track in tip top condition for all our racers and members, but it's not easy work with only a couple of people, so if you can spare some time this weekend the club would really appreciate the help!

On site from 9am both days.

Please let us know below if you can lend a hand!

Many thanks from Team PDMCC

Round 5 is a wrap! 🏁

Thanks to everyone who joined us today, despite the weather threatening to rain after lunch we managed to just about miss it! Much to the ebuggy 2nd leg's dismay 😅

We got through 5 rounds of qualifying and 3 finals today with plenty of track time! Some were expecting rain but the track started dry and stayed that way all day! Plenty of surprises throughout the heats!

> Nitro Qualifying <

The pace was close all day between 4 or 5 drivers, Lee Scott Hughes took the first round, but Brandon Hill would fire back taking rounds 2 and 3. John Huyton put together a solid run in round 4 to take his own round TQ, but Brandon would seal the deal in the final round taking 3 TQs and therefore overall TQ showing some blistering pace and more mature driving! Joe Chew seemingly struggled in qualifying only managing a best of 2nd in round but threatened the top 3 lurking in 4th.

> Electric Qualifying <

Nick Cox definitely getting his head around the electric associated now starting the day strong with the first round win. Philip Carrick would keep him honest by taking round 2 to keep it close but Nick's car looked great and he locked in the next 3 round wins to take overall TQ. Regular top 3 attendee Neil Burdess would take 3rd in every round and line up 3rd in the final behind Phil.

> Nitro B Final <

A cut during countdown would cause pole sitter and up and coming talent Alfie Belsford to start from pit lane allowing the pack to get away. Despite this 2 laps later he would take the lead back from Andy Hill and build a substantial lead during the first stint. However it all started to come un done during the second half of the race with a blown out rear diff he would ultimately retire. This would allow Andy to take a pretty easy win, with Andy Cook and Peter Mason rounding out the podium

🥇 Andy Hill
🥈 Andy Cooke
🥉 Peter Mason

> Nitro A Final <

The early pace was hot with Brandon getting away clean followed by Lee, John and Joe, as the first stint built John and Lee would make mistakes leaving Joe and Brandon to fight up front for the lead going back and forth for the first few laps it was intense. Joe nabbed the lead before the first stops and Brandon made a couple of errors letting Joe get away and take the win, despite running out of fuel just before the loop on the last lap, he'd done just enough to keep his lead. Brandon followed him in second with the battle for 3rd coming down to the last lap between John and Lee, Lee would get caught under some track marking and John snuck through to seal the last place on the podium!

🥇 Joe Chew
🥈 Brandon Hill
🥉 John Huyton

> Electric A Finals <

Nicks superior pace showed during both legs and he took clean wins to put himself 1st overall. Phil, in desperate need of the N2 now would have to settle for second. The battle for 3rd was tight however with young Rhys Ward showing good pace and Neil never for away but it would be the consistency of our local spaghetti powered Italian Vincenzo Zuccarelli who would take 3rd on the podium!

🥇 Nick Cox
🥈 Phil Carrick
🥉 🍝
