Massive thank you to everyone who joined us for the second round of our Summer Series today!
Glorious weather! 😁😎 super fast on track action and despite every other club and his dog running today we still managed 30ish drivers and 3 heats in total! We certainly hope you all enjoyed it!
Ebuggy - Qualifying
Philip Carrick set out to put his Round 1 disappointment to bed this week with a convincing TQ. The battle behind him was close however, with Neil Burdess, Ryan Lownie and Harry Sayle all in with a shout for second on the grid. It would be Harry making it to best of the rest with a cheeky Round 4 TQ due to a breakage from Phil.
Ebuggy - Finals
Leg 1 - Phil would dominate from lights to flag and take a step up towards the win. The battle was for second once again with Harry and Neil. Despite staying in second for most of it Harry would make an error and let Neil through with a couple of mins to go, a gap he never got back!
Leg 2 - In an almost exact repeat of Round 1, Phil would once again lead the pack and took the overall win, a step in the right direction for his championship. Although Harry would have superior outright pace, the consistency and experience of Neil helped him to another second, making it second overall and Harry would round out the top 3
🥇 Phil Carrick (Agama)(1, 1)
🥈 Neil Burdess (Sworkz)(2, 2)
🥉 Harry Sayle (Sworkz)(3, 3)
Nitro - Qualifying
The pace was hot straight out of the gate with the dry weather we've had and Dave Crompton would take the first round TQ, however Joe Chew would bounce back in Round 2 capitalising on a mistake from Dave to take a round TQ for himself. This wouldn't continue despite the pace being close Dave edged it out to take overall TQ with Joe in 2nd and Brandon Hill showing some speed to take 3rd overall!
Nitro - Finals
B Final
Alfie Belsford would sit on pole and lead most of the race with a comfortable gap to Graham Ackeroyd in 2nd, unfortunately the junior racer's inexperienced showed and he made errors late on to allow Graham through, Alfie held on to second and they both bumped into the A final! Grant Maiden would round out the B final podium with a solid 3rd place!
A Final
It would be the battle of the old guard up front with Dave and Joe breaking away early on and having a nail biting 15 minutes of ebb and flow, the lead changed hands a couple of times as they both made errors. However with 5 minutes or so to go Joe's pace dropped off and Dave would take the win! Joe ran out of fuel but had done more than enough to keep 2nd in tact. The drive of the day goes to our very own chairman James Hunt who would come home in 3rd to claim his first Pendle A final podium in what feels like forever! He even started half a lap down with a flame out during the grid countdown 🙈 superb effort from our commander in chief!
Amazing racing throughout today and some well earned results! Thanks once again to our burger van! They has frankfurters on today 🌭 which many people took advantage of 😁😋
Our next meeting is in only 2 weeks on the 10th of May!
Until then!
