New courtesy car ready for our customers!

Not posted for a while as we have been extremely busy but we will share a few photos from the week.

2014 VW Touareg 3.0 V6 in for a service and multiple faults including an oil leak and coolant leak traced to a brittle flat o ring.

Fixed road tested and re checked and good to go.

Ford Transit recovered in for a charging fault.
This was quite a tricky job as it doesn’t charge the battery directly from the alternator. This vehicle uses a 48v mild hybrid system.
After a few hours the culprit was found inside the lithium ion battery pack.
It was found that the main cable had become very hot and melted the fuse and battery case.
This has resulted in a replacement unit being required at a cost of £1700.00 for the part alone.
Test not guess.

T5 transporter van in for a rear wheel bearing swap. The old one was ridiculously worn out. These can be awkward as it’s usually a press job but we have the hydraulic tool to pull and press them in without any damage to the bearing, housing or seating clip.

Autotrail Comanche 3.0 Diesel.
This is our customers home and was on its way to Portugal when it developed a serious engine and also Abs fault.
AT 8.5 m long it will only fit into one work bay so a Saturday shift has to be done so as not to restrict our busy MOT bay.
As I mentioned this is the customers only living accommodation so we are keen to assist getting it back on the road.
