This week we have had call outs including

Audi A4 convertible : srs airbag light on, run full diagnostics, fault pinpointed to the near side rear passenger seatbelt pretensioner / was able to delete the fault / light went out no further work was needed. Problem solved

Audis, BMW’s, VW, Skoda and many other makes have a common issue with the airbag/srs connectors underneath the seats.
Most time this involves removing the seat and repairing the connection. But this time it just needed the codes deleting

Vauxhall movano : engine management light on and DPf full message
Run diagnostic, fault with maf sensor & DPf full,
Changed sensor, deleted the codes then run DPf regen. Problem solved

Usually the reason there’s a light on is because there is a fault (present) or was a fault (history)
So first port of call is to
Run smart diagnostics
Send full pre report to customer
Delete codes
Check which codes remain if any (these are the present or permanent faults
Not all fault reader will find the fault especially the low cost ones.

Car and van diagnostics based in Neath, South Wales 📍📈

We are able to run detailed diagnostics with live reading on systems, such as injectors, maf and map sensors, wastegate pressure and much more.

Our first step is to run the diagnoses to check if there are any fault codes present. We then delete the fault codes to recognise which problems are permanent faults, this is usually where the fault lies. These particular faults would usually illuminate the EML LIGHT indicating there is a fault in the system. When the fault is present , processes such as DPF regenaration do not occur whilst driving, this obviously then leads to the DPF becoming full and the car going in to limp mode/dpf message illuminated.

Also newer cars need to be told that a new battery has been fitted for it to work properly.

If your vehicle has been in an accident you may have srs (airbag) light illuminated, these lights will stay on until the fault/faults have been deleted, some cars may not start until this crash data has been deleted.
