New alert levels introduced by the Welsh Government
The Welsh Government has announced their guidance on a new alert level in Wales to control the spread of coronavirus in the country.
From 28 December all areas of Wales will be put into alert level 4. The Welsh Government will carry out a formal review every 3 weeks.
You can read more about the measures on the Welsh Government’s website.
Driving lessons
The Welsh Government has decided that driving lessons should not take place in Wales from 6pm on 24 December until the restrictions are lifted.
You should not travel out of Wales to give driving lessons or to take a pupil for a test.
Driving tests
The Welsh Government has also decided that all car driving tests will be suspended in Wales from 6pm on 24 December until the restrictions are lifted. This includes ADI part 2 and 3 tests and standards checks.
We'll email pupils who are affected by this to let them know we will reschedule their test.
We’ll then send you an email with the new time and date as soon as possible; please ask your pupils to be patient.
If the new time and date isn’t suitable for you or your pupil, you can choose a different time and date on GOV.UK. You will need your pupil’s driving licence number to do this. Your pupil does not need to pay again to do this.
Theory tests
All theory tests will be suspended in Wales from 6pm on 24 December.
We will email anyone who has booked a test and is affected by this to let them know the theory test is on hold and that they will need to reschedule it by visiting https://www.gov.uk/change-theory-test. This is in line with the Welsh Government guidance.
If you booked your pupils theory test you will need to log into the booking system and rearrange their test for a new date and time.
