Our Summer drawing Competition Winner has been chosen by Daisy, Daughter of our owners Rick and Michelle.

The winner and creator of this amazing picture is Elizabeth Baker aged 10 from Clevedon. Elizabeth has won a £30 Amazon Voucher. We will also be using Elizabeth's picture on our socials.

We would also like to thank and congratulate 2nd place Robyn aged 6 and 3rd place Harry aged 11.

Well done to all winners and a huge thank you to all who got involved. We hope you are all having an amazing summer holiday.

We still talk to a lot of people who are confused about maintenance and inspections for their telehandler, tractor, or forklift.

To be clear: they are not the same thing, and a regular service visit does not make you LOLER compliant.

Under the regulations, Thorough Examination is a separate thing. It needs to be independent of your maintenance — ideally, done by a different technician at another time.

That’s not always practical, though, so we have guidelines to help you stay compliant and safe.

This week the engineering team had the pleasure of having Ryan Wheeler of Churchill Academy & Sixth Form with them for work experience.

Ryan worked with the team carrying out servicing and Thorough Examinations on multiple types of material handling equipment.

Ryan is seen here using the teams tablet to log on to the job and enter the details of the forklift ready for its Thorough Examination.

In the second picture Ryan is using the CFTS Thorough Examination fork gauge to test the forks for wear.

In the last picture Ryan is applying a spray grease to a Reach Truck to help keep its moving parts lubricated and protected from wear.

A couple of words from NAE Engineer Gemma:
