Here are some pics from the various jobs I tackled on this legend of a car. This 1938 Bentley has literally rallied around the World and in doing so, has accumulated some interesting ‘in field’ modifications. Here is the drivers side door sill which had lost its original form at some point. In order to correct this without removing or damaging the body skin, I had to make over 20 puzzle pieces of Ash wood to slot together. The plan worked a treat and a great wave of satisfaction was felt when that final piece slotted in with a close tolerance fit.
once the foundation structure had been glued in, I then tackled the laminated raised portion.
Finished off with some black paint and now it’s off to the metalwork boys to skin and weld it all together.
