♻️♻️♻️ Recycling Collection Hub ♻️♻️♻️♻️

We all know that scenario when you run out of food bags or one of your recycling bag splits and you are then left with the dilemma of finding where and how you can replace them?!

Well fear not as we are now an official Flintshire County Council Recycling Collection Hub.

We have just had our starter pack dropped off so if you need any-

♻️Tins and Cans Bags

They are available to collect during our full opening hours, as stock and staff availability allows.

Just wanted to update people on the road closures that will take effect from tomorrow evening (8pm -5am). They are hoping to finish the road resurfacing along the Denbigh Road from near the football club along to and including the new road changes at the Rhosesmor junction .

Now as a business you can imagine the frustrations we have felt with the road works already that have taken place at the Rhosesmor junction. They were meant to take 5 weeks and ended up taking over 12 weeks.

When I then sat in FCC the other week and they explained they needed 3 nights to finish the road resurfacing and had agreed to do it at night to reduce further interruption.

However the signs went up a week later and this has now become 3 weeks and not the 3 nights, so I have no idea why so long.

I did point out that there did not appear to be much drainage points along from the bottom of the Rhosesmor hill and this was potentially a concern to us in the village. I am hoping this will be reviewed at the same time and won’t be a concern with the new road layout?!

The only positives are that the road closures will be between 8pm and 5am so we should be completely open as normal with no interruption to our business during opening hours.

Let’s watch this space but I hope this clarifies things as people have been expressing concern for how they will get to us and also to hospital appointments etc in the next few weeks. Fingers crossed none of this should be a problem.

Why it is taking 3 weeks and not 3 days we will all wait with great anticipation & I will look forward to reviewing the productivity of the workmen on the CCTV each morning! 😜

Yesterday we had a lovely team burger lunch and a chance to say goodbye to Lisa from the workshop team.

Lisa has been with us for over 2 years and will be heading back to JLR, so we will continue to work with her closely, as she moves into her new role.

She has been a great part of the team & we wish her all the best.

We are also delighted that Mark also started yesterday and has over 30 years of experience in the motor industry as a workshop controller, service manager and customer advisor.

We are confident he will jump into the role quickly and we are excited where the workshop service can grow and develop.

We are delighted to again be one of the main Sponsors for the Cilcain Show today.

Happy August Bank Holiday.

A reminder that the Post Office Counter is closed on bank holidays, however we are still able to process Amazon returns (non Royal Mail option) and do Electric and Gas Key Top ups when the Post Office is closed.

The Shop is open as normal 8am to 8pm today and the Post Office will be back tomo 9-6.30am.

Well the bar has certainly been set very high this evening after receiving our first picture of our new Rhydymwyn Service Station Tote bags on tour.

Not only is the alternative use excellent, as a beach bag, but it is also very impressive on miles travelled from home, as it is all the way in Indonesia!!

I think the challenge is now set. Let’s give it till the end of the year and we will have a prize of one of our breakfast hampers for the furthest distance travelled across the globe for our merchandise and also one for the best alternative use or creativity of the photo. And this picture could literally be taken across the road!!

I love anything a bit different or fun so let the creativity juices flow or the air miles simply begin!

Woooohooooo this so super exciting!!!!

We all love Just Steak in-it and they have decided to give us exclusivity of their magic meat sauces and rubs to sell in the shop!!

Now if you have ever tried Just Steak you will know that the magic green and red sauces will literally transform any meat dinner.

And the rubs can be added to anything like meat, vegetables to give it an extra boost!

Fuel Pump Frustration!

Yesterday afternoon we had a disagreement at the pumps when one customer was taking a little longer than another customer was happy about.

There was frustrations and words said which resulted in a staff member coming out and reminding people to be patient and kind.

This is a frequent scenario we see most days and it is often hard when everybody has different agendas, pressures and timescales.

We have however this evening received this message from potentially the customers wife and I think it highlights perfectly the need for us all to remember to be kind.

Sometimes when people aren’t going at the same speed as you would like we need to maybe step back & potentially consider they could be dealing with a very difficult situation!

Life is hard and so many people are now dealing with health concerns, grief or financial pressures, so just giving them a little support and kindness can go a long way.
