Well that’s another year over for us, and we had a couple of very nice cars to round things up 😎
First up is Dave’s Cobra, this is a quality car and in a subtle, but great colour.
Dave brought us a list of jobs to attack on this one, inc modifying the steering column to a modern bearing setup rather than a rubber bush, other jobs inc new plugs, mods to the handbrake linkage, diff oil, clutch adjustment, a new cooling fan, and a few other service related jobs .
Next up is Rogers ‘T’bird, another great looking car.
This came into us to get checked over and brought back up to scratch after being off the road for a while. We did some service work, a few minor carb repairs/diaphragms/gaskets etc, went right through the brakes/suspension etc, got it running and driving, and gave it a tune up.

We’re going to take some much needed family time now, but we’re really looking forward to going racing as a family again next year 😎
Massive thanks to all our valued customers, we are privileged to work on some amazing vehicles 😎

All the best to everybody, and hopefully see you all again in 2024 🍻

Been a busy few weeks trying to catch up 🥺
Had to do a rebuild on Luke’s VW engine after it ingested a small washer through the carb and caused some minor damage in the combustion chamber, we were asked to convert the engine to a ‘full flow’ oiling system while it was apart.
Next is Derrick’s Firebird, really like these early cars, unfortunately this had a destroyed transmission !! With most of the trans internals replaced (big thanks to Paul at Lagonda transmissions for the help with that 🍻) we got it back in the car and driving great, we also gave the car a quick tune up, repaired the door catch, and made a couple of wiring repairs to get the lights working again, before Derrick collected the car and headed back up to Newcastle.
Next was another VW engine for Tom, this one was just generally a bit tired, so we went through the whole engine and replaced parts where needed, we were also asked to upgrade the camshaft while it was apart to help the engine breath a bit better with its planned supercharger install.
Hopefully get a few jobs finished off before we finally close for 2023 👍😎

Finally back to work at the shop after a fairly stressful house move 🥺 unfortunately we’re now a little behind with our workload, but we are trying our best to catch up 👍
Here is a collection of recent jobs that i haven’t previously posted.
First up is Alan’s Corvette C3, we took the steering column apart and fitted a new ignition switch, rebuilt the powersteering ram, and flushed/renewed the brake fluid.
Next up is the small block race engine from the Cartoon Network sponsored NASCAR, the car is now used for demonstration racing here in the UK. The engine slowly loses water as the car is used, after stripping the top end of the engine i found one cylinder head badly corroded around a water gallery ☹️ hopefully a skim will clean up the damage.
Next up is a lovely Mach1, this came in with an engine vibration, i replaced the perished engine mounts, but while fitting a new water pump i noticed the cooling fan was damaged and the most likely cause of the vibration, so fitted a replacement fan too, no more vibration 😎
Finally, Tim’s Cabrio Beetle, we’ve been looking after this car for many years, its had some resto work a few years ago and is still in amazing condition, we just serviced the engine and gave the underside a coat of clear Waxoyl 😎

Due to unexpected personal commitments the shop will be closed until Tuesday the 14th November.
We have tried to contact everybody with jobs booked in over that period, if we have missed anybody i apologise ☹️
You can still leave a message (telephone/social media) and we will reply to them once we re-open 👍

A short video clip of Phil’s Porsche 356 engine that we recently rebuilt.
Phil’s restored the rest of the car himself at his own workshop to an unbelievably high standard, really looking forward to seeing this finished and i’ll post a few pic’s (if i remember to take some 🙈)

Another great mix of cars in the shop this week 😎
Jim’s Fury back in with us for an oil & filter change, a new transmission pan gasket and oil change, exhaust ‘H’ pipe section fitted, and good coat of underbody sealer ready for the winter 😎
Next was a very smart 72 Mustang Mach1 in for some minor exhaust repairs and a tuneup 😎
Midweek we had Dave’s Beetle back in with us to fit an original style vacuum distributor in place of the aftermarket mechanical one that had been fitted previously, we recommended this on Dave’s last visit, hopefully this will improve the performance, fuel economy, and the engine should drive smoother, we also repaired a small amount of damaged wiring to get the rear lights working again 😎
Inbetween all that i got stuck into a Harley Fatboy with charging issues, and a couple of engine rebuilds in the works, but i’ll save them for another post 👍😁

Lots going on this last few weeks, so busy i forgot to take pic’s of most of it 🙈
But here’s a few pic’s i did remember to take 👍😁
Andrew’s amazing Dodge D100 truck 😎😎😎 i fitted a Pertronix electronic ignition conversion, set up the engine/carb, and fitted some steering components, this truck is certainly one of my new favourites 😎😎
Vince’s Splitty in for a new clutch after the old Kennedy plate collapsed.
Engine and gearbox out of Woodys Bug to swap to short axles, fit external oil cooler with stat controlled fan, and custom made hoses.
A lovely Karmann Ghia in for service and tune up work, i first worked on this Ghia over 12yrs ago and it still looks great 😎
Final pic’s are of Rasta Phil’s Subaru engined Bug, came in for a couple of small jobs inc sorting out a sump leak😎
It seems like we have been invaded by VW’s this last few weeks 🙈😂
