So,gets the used metering head out of the box for the Volvo, taken ages to find one from a running car,(customer supplied),anyway, within seconds realised it was seized solid,in fact worse than the one on the car,so after a few polite words and kicking some stuff about in the garage,I goes back to the car,now the one on the car that I stripped and freed off, would not work properly afterwards, car would fire then die, messed with it for days, got nowhere,I figured it was because I had to force it apart and the 6 shims inside that fine tune the fueling to each cylinder flew all over the place,so got mixed up,hence I eventually gave up,anyway back to now,so I'm constantly firing it back up,and trying to catch it on the throttle before it dies,no luck, then after about an hour managed to keep it running on 3 cylinders, just feathering the throttle, anyway over the space of another hour,3 turns to 4,then 5 ,then a set of spark plugs and more fuel eventually 6,now running almost perfect, and getting better the longer it runs, eventually I was able to drive it,first time it drove in over 22 years, drove well, couldn't believe I had actually fixed it first time around a d just needed a bit more percivearance on my part, anyway spare metering head on its way to a specialist for a rebuild, and car back to happy customer, amongst all this forgot to take a video of it running, sounded nicer than a lot of more modern motors.
