🚨 BROKEN DOWN? DON'T PANIC!
UP NORTH RECOVERIES • Your breakdown safety guide
Save this post — you never know when you or someone you know might need it! 👇
STEP 1 — Stay calm and put your hazards on 🚨
If your car starts playing up, stay calm, slow down smoothly and switch on your hazard lights when safe to do so.
STEP 2 — Get somewhere safe 🛣️
If possible, move to a safe place away from moving traffic. On a motorway, use an emergency area or hard shoulder if available and safe. Never stop in a live lane unless unavoidable.
STEP 3 — Protect yourself and your passengers 🦺
On a motorway, if it is safe, leave through the left-hand door and get behind the safety barrier. Keep children and passengers with you. If you cannot get to safety, stay belted in with hazards on and call 999 if you are in immediate danger.
STEP 4 — Get help 📱
Note your location, road name, direction of travel and nearest junction or marker. Tell the recovery operator what has happened and whether you're in a dangerous position.
STEP 5 — Let the professionals take over 🚛
Avoid attempting roadside repairs in dangerous locations. Arrange suitable recovery to a garage, home or another safe destination.

🚨 HONEYMOON RESCUE ON THE A1! 🚨

A Seat Leon broke down on the A1 while our customer was on his way to Portugal for his honeymoon! 💍❤️

We got the call and made our way out to them, recovered the Leon safely, and helped our customer continue his journey. The vehicle was brought safely back to Middlesbrough and delivered to a garage for repair. 🔧🚗

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. 🙏
