Hooton Lodge Trials Bike Park is far more than simply a place to ride motorbikes. It welcomes people of all ages and abilities, providing a safe, controlled and legal environment in which they can enjoy trials riding responsibly.

The park helps discourage illegal and potentially dangerous off-road riding in unsuitable locations. It also brings people together, reduces loneliness and social isolation, supports physical and mental wellbeing, creates local jobs and attracts visitors who contribute to the wider local economy.
We cannot afford to lose this unique and much-needed community facility. Every supportive comment submitted through the planning portal could make a real difference. 💗

Are you practical, hands-on and good at fixing things? We’re looking for someone to join our team and help keep The Old George Inn, Wheels Café & Between Rivers Camping looking their best!

🛠️ What you’ll be doing:
• General maintenance & repairs
• Building & DIY jobs
• Grounds work & gardening
• Cleaning & litter picking
• Interior & exterior upkeep
• General jobs around the pub, café & campsite

📅 Approx. 35 hours per week
• 3–4 weekdays
• Alternate weekends
• Flexible hours
• Core hours 10am–3pm
• Earlier starts/later finishes available if preferred

🌦️ You must be happy working outside in all weather!

🚗 Own transport essential — we’re rural and there’s no public transport.

💷 Pay above NMW, depending on experience

Far too often we see posts complaining of off road motorcycles and nowhere to use our bikes. Hooton Lodge has been successfully supplying this for a fair few years and is now under threat because someone doesn't like it.

Let's get behind them and show Rotherham Council just how important these types of facilities are.

🚨 OUR TRIALS BIKE PARK NEEDS YOU! 🚨

Our wonderful Hooton lodge trials bike park is at risk of closure, and we urgently need your support.

We are currently preparing a new planning application and are asking anyone who uses the park, or family members of those who do, to write a short supporting statement explaining what the facility means to you.

Hooton Lodge Trials Bike Park provides a safe, legal and well-managed place for riders to enjoy their bikes, develop their skills and spend time with others who share the same passion.

It brings together riders of all ages, from just 4 years old through to 74, and has become much more than simply a place to ride. It is a social hub, a supportive community and an important outlet for physical activity, confidence, friendship, mental health and wellbeing.

Without facilities like ours, many riders would have nowhere suitable or legal to practise their sport.

Your statement does not need to be long. Just a few honest words about why you use the park, what it offers you or your family, and how its closure would affect you could make a real difference.
