So the new workshop is almost up & running, some electrical work to be done & some more fabrication equipment to be purchased & we’re all set. This workshop will be dedicated purely for metal work, mechanical & strip/fit.
I will still be operating out of the main workshop which will be dedicated to bodywork & paint.
I’m still on the lookout for either a full time paint & body specialist or a full time panel beater/fabricator.

Here’s one that’s been quietly going on in the background for a while. Possibly our most important car due too it’s sentimental value.
A 1972’ Marathon Beetle. In its first coat of MIPA Epoxy Grundierfiller. All the usual repairs done a Beetle, heater channels, Lower A post, Lower rear quarters etc etc. The good thing about this shell was the fact it was unmolested, we didn’t have to unpick to many old repairs. It’s had some MOT repairs from years gone by but nothing drastic. The one huge bonus was the ‘death foam’ hadn’t gotten to the rear sections of the roof or under the quarter vents. All really solid there.
The floor has also been repaired with new pans, naps hat & lower frame head panel. That will be painted next week ready for reassembly. Many parts have already been reconditioned ready for the build.
This car will be the first car to be assembled in the new unit which is currently being set up for opening the beginning of September.

You'll play a vital role in preparing surfaces and applying high-quality paint finishes to a variety of Modern & classics cars. This position offers the opportunity to work within a small dedicated team ensuring that each project meets our high standards. You should be an expert in surface preparation, filling, blocking, sanding & all painting techniques using old & new school materials & methods.

Also the final polish techniques required for flawless paint. You must be have your own tools.

Must have experience working with a variety classic & modern cars & the ability to fabricate bespoke panels & small repair sections where panels are not available.
Working to a high standard.

That’s Most of the Lancia in paint.
Just bumpers, bonnet, tailgate & trim left. Final flat & polish to follow before going back to its owner. Final finish was achieved using Mipa SB Basecoat & Mipa CC12, applied with Iwata WS400 pininfarina 95.

Lancia is in its final Mipa 4+1 Primer. I’ve chosen to go back to using Mipa products now & will be doing some reviews in the coming months on the processes we use now.
Love the body lines on this car…..next stage is prep & paint back to the original colour. Check back soon for updates, I’ll be doing a video for the paint.

Here we have a Lancia Delta Intergrale EVO1 that came in for corrosion repairs & a respray. After digging into the car we found some well covered dangerous repairs alongside some other areas that couldn’t be left. Still amazes me what people will bodge at the cost of safety. Both rear strut towers had been filled cleverly to cover serious corrosion. They effectively were not attached to the car & posed a serious risk. After extensive fabrication by Emlyn everything is safe & looking great. She’s in epoxy now to start the final process…..keep checking back for updates
