That’s Most of the Lancia in paint.
Just bumpers, bonnet, tailgate & trim left. Final flat & polish to follow before going back to its owner. Final finish was achieved using Mipa SB Basecoat & Mipa CC12, applied with Iwata WS400 pininfarina 95.

Lancia is in its final Mipa 4+1 Primer. I’ve chosen to go back to using Mipa products now & will be doing some reviews in the coming months on the processes we use now.
Love the body lines on this car…..next stage is prep & paint back to the original colour. Check back soon for updates, I’ll be doing a video for the paint.

Here we have a Lancia Delta Intergrale EVO1 that came in for corrosion repairs & a respray. After digging into the car we found some well covered dangerous repairs alongside some other areas that couldn’t be left. Still amazes me what people will bodge at the cost of safety. Both rear strut towers had been filled cleverly to cover serious corrosion. They effectively were not attached to the car & posed a serious risk. After extensive fabrication by Emlyn everything is safe & looking great. She’s in epoxy now to start the final process…..keep checking back for updates

So the year started hitting the ground running with a quick turn around job that nearly broke me! This 1935 Bentley drop head coupe arrived right at the beginning of January.
The information I had on the car was that it had already been subject to a bare metal respray & simply wanted a colour change.
This wasn’t the case at all & what ensued was nothing short of shear panic. Most cars have movable deadlines but this had to be ready to return for its rebuild in 4 weeks ready for a wedding that was in 6 weeks.
What lay underneath was layers of paint, filler & fibreglass hiding years of DIY repairs & detrimental aluminium corrosion! Having said that for 90+ years old it was quite remarkable. Having stripped back as much as possible, Large sections of the front wings/running boards needed replacing. Emphasis on it not being a full restoration were paramount.
With long days & help from an incredible coachbuilder I managed to do all the necessary repairs, prep, mock up, modify re-mock up paint & final polish were completed on time.
The car is heading to its venue tomorrow for the wedding.
It will be displayed on my Stand at the Practical Classic Restoration show next month alongside another project currently in the workshop.

These are some of the photos of the Purple Haze Corsa which was completed for the HB Body Stand at the Classic Car show that was held at the NEC earlier this month.
