🔥 THE VW CADDY K04 BUILD IS COMPLETE! 🔥

What a build this one has been. After a serious amount of work, the Caddy is finally back together, mapped and out on the road. 💪🏻

At the heart of it is a K04 with Littco anti-surge core, backed up properly with all the supporting hardware:

🔧 K04 with Littco anti-surge core
🔧 AKS Tuning turbo actuator
🔧 3-inch decat
🔧 High on Boost coil packs
🔧 RS4 fuel pressure setup
🔧 3-bar MAP sensor
🔧 Uprated HPFP
🔧 Uprated DV
🔧 Cold-air intake
🔧 Uprated intercooler
🔧 Stage 2 Competition clutch
🔧 Brand-new LUK flywheel
🔧 Replacement air-con pipe — meaning we managed to retain the air conditioning 👌🏻

💻 And the mapping? Done in-house by ASR.

We’ve got the Caddy fully set up, mapped and running ready for the next stage.

The customer has now taken it away to have a custom exhaust system fabricated, then it’ll be coming straight back to us for further mapping revisions and data logging so we can dial everything in and get the full potential out of this setup. 🔥

This has been one hell of a build from start to finish. Plenty of work, plenty of problem solving and a lot of attention to detail — but seeing it leave under its own power makes it all worth it.

Really happy with how this one has come together. 👌🏻

🔥 THE CADDY IS GETTING SERIOUS NOW… K04 HYBRID BUILD IS WELL UNDERWAY! 🔥

What started as a TFSI conversion is quickly turning into something a whole lot more interesting. 👀💨

Another big day on the VW Caddy K04 Hybrid project, and we’ve made some serious progress:

🔧 K04 hybrid turbo mounted
💉 K04 injectors installed
⛽ RS4 fuel pressure sender fitted
🔩 New rocker cover gasket installed
❄️ Oversized uprated intercooler fitted

Getting that oversized intercooler into the front end definitely wasn’t a straight bolt-in job! A few adjustments were needed to make everything fit correctly, but it’s now sitting nicely alongside the radiator and air-con condenser, with everything checked for clearance. 👌🏻

We also found some serious carbon build-up around the intake flaps while everything was apart. 😬 Rather than ignoring it and putting everything back together, we spent a good hour cleaning them up and removing as much of the build-up as possible. If we’re building it, we’re doing it properly. 🔧

And that wasn’t the only surprise…

We uncovered stripped bolts from the previous engine installation, along with FOUR rocker cover bolts that were only finger tight. 😳

This is exactly why we’re working through the entire build properly and checking everything as we go. There’s no point throwing performance parts at it if the basics underneath haven’t been done correctly.

🤞🏻 Tomorrow we’re hoping to wrap up the remaining engine add-ons, go back over everything and get the engine side of the build completed.

Then Friday the gearbox comes out and we move onto the Stage 2 Competition Clutch. 🔥

After that, we’re getting very close to the fun part…

Well today, Jay casually walks across the petrol station forecourt and spots something lying on the floor…

On a public petrol station forecourt.

WAITING FOR THEIR NEW OWNER. 🤣🤣

Somebody genuinely nearly won themselves a BMW M5 today.

NO RAFFLE.
NO TICKET.
NO £20 POSTAL ENTRY.
JUST FILL UP AT THE RIGHT PETROL STATION AND FIND THE KEYS. 😂😂😂

Luckily Jay found them first and returned them to the absolute weapon who apparently owns a garage but can’t be trusted with a set of car keys. 🤦‍♂️

So cheers, Jay. 🤝😂

Anyone who knows us knows we’ve got a massive soft spot for Honda, so we definitely appreciated having this Civic Type R in the workshop today. 🇯🇵🔥

The job? A GReddy cat-back exhaust system — and WOW… what a difference. 😮‍💨🔊

Fitted up, fired up and safe to say it sounded absolutely incredible! 👌

There’s just something about a Type R — the looks, the engineering, the way they drive and now, with that GReddy system, the soundtrack to match. ❤️‍🔥

Honestly, what a stunning example this is. We could quite happily have kept this one in the workshop a little longer just to admire it. 😂

We’re starting to think these Mokka’s have got our address saved in the sat nav. 😂

This one was in for a couple of repairs needed for its MOT:

🔩 Replacement coil spring
🔧 New lower suspension arm
🔍 Everything checked over and secured
✅ Repaired and ready for its MOT

Nothing fancy, no unnecessary nonsense — just the parts it needed, fitted properly and back on the road. 👌

🚨 ROADSIDE JOB — AND THIS ONE ESCALATED QUICKLY… 🚨

We headed out to this Nissan Qashqai for what should have been a straightforward service.

Up she goes, sump plug undone and then we waited for the oil to come out…

And waited…

And waited… 👀

Turns out there was basically NOTHING IN THE ENGINE. 😳🫠

Safe to say, that wasn’t quite the service we were expecting!

A bit of investigating later and we found a serious oil leak coming from the turbo, explaining where the engine oil had been disappearing to.

🔍 Fault traced to the turbo
🛢️ Engine found with virtually no oil
🔧 Repair required
📅 We’re back out Thursday to get this one sorted

Sometimes a routine service finds a problem just in time before it becomes a very expensive engine-shaped paperweight. 😂

This Mokka came into ASR for a head gasket sniff test after concerns over the cooling system.

Rather than playing the expensive game of “let’s replace parts and hope for the best” 😂 — we test and diagnose first.

🧪 Combustion gas / sniff test carried out
🌡️ Cooling system checked
🔍 Investigating for signs of head gasket failure
✅ Proper diagnosis before spending the customer’s money

Guessing is expensive. Diagnosis isn’t. 🔧
